This morning I was looking back at some memories that popped up on Facebook.
I caught myself judging all the things that looked wrong and cringing over how differently I'd do things now.
But...
I want to give grace to the girl who was trying her best. Who didn't know. Who thought she did. Because I want to normalise NOT knowing things, and how we 'do better' when we 'know better'.
Before starting down my education journey, I can humbly say, I was doing the best with the information I had.
I spent years educating horses, with gear that obviously didnt fit, body issues that would have gone unnoticed, and behavioural problems that may have just required a simple change to gear fit, diet, or first helping the horses body feel better.
Instead not knowing these options, I probably had to work alot harder to get results than I would now.
If I had the chance to do it again, I would do things differently. But we can't change the past, so I endeavour to show up everyday with an open mind, and to be the student of the horse.
When we know more, we also realise how much we don't know!! So that's where I am in my journey.
This isn't just about horses either.
I want to surround myself with people that know more than me. Who are talented, and passionate, and striving to be the best versions of themselves!
What are some things that youve learnt along the way that you wished your younger self would have known?
