We love and rescue small dogs, have their vet needs attended to, and then find them fantastic homes. We are a group of foster carers who help rescue unwanted dogs from Pounds and Shelters. We have all their vet work done and then care for them in our homes, and teach them how to be a loved well mannered pet. We then find the best possible home suitable for their needs.

Five years to current.

1. Please download the Statutory Declaration

https://www.justice.vic.gov.au/statdecs -1-download-and-fill-out-the-form

2. Please fill in with dates and times, and your experiences.
A Chemist can witness and sign it for you.

3. Email to [email protected] along with photographs or any other paperwork or information you wish to pass along.

This information will be correlated and sent to the Minister of Dept of Agriculture. Only she will see your name, the rest will be completely anonymous.

The more people who come forward and spend time doing this the better chance we have of change. I cannot do this without you.

1. Download a Statutory Declaration here.

2. Fill out your story with dates and times. A Chemist can witness it for you.

Please note. We cannot assist with seized or court dogs. This is a Council/Owner matter.

This is a legal document and to lie is an offence.

Mum Sarah says, "Spencer is struggling these days..sleeping more and coughing more and sounding a little congested not just in the morning but all day. But still runs out to wake up the neighbourhood. Still eating and looking for food. He is happy💕 and that is all I ask for."

Spencer is in heart failure, at only 5 years of age. We know he has between 6-12 months - but we make every day a winner.

Palliative care is important to us at RWL. Caring for special needs or aged animals with a myriad of issues is not easy. It is time consuming and 24/7.

We give the best we can.

Tomorrow being a public holiday means the Lost Dogs Home is closed.Never mind that other shelters are open for adoption ...

Tomorrow being a public holiday means the Lost Dogs Home is closed.

Never mind that other shelters are open for adoption - trying every opportunity to get those in need out of the shelter.

From 8 am till 1.30 pm Vets, nurses and Animal Attendants will be at the shelter.

After that, all afternoon, evening and night, until 8 am the next day - the animals are left on their own with no medication, no food, and possibly no water.

If the pen is filthy, and the bedding soiled bad luck.

The pens will be hosed out with the dogs in them.
The dogs will stay wet.

If a dog is ill suddenly there is no one there to help.

If an animal is pregnant and aborts, no one is there to help.

This is what happens to Melbourne's lost companion animals every weekend, and every public holiday at The Lost Dogs Home.

Why?

Our Harriet has been in at the vet clinic today having X-rays. Her lungs showed a lot of changes in the cranial mediastinal part of her lungs.

And so we needed to investigate further.

We organised an ultrasound and found there is significant fluid on her lungs. :( Her heart is fine, and thankfully no pathology in her lungs (No cancer).

She has been given a diuretic and seems much more comfortable now - so Dylan is putting it down to Pleural Odema, potentially with pneumonia. :(

So she will head home with antibiotics and frusemide and hopefully she will pick up in the coming days.

Harriet is 16 now - and we need to make sure she receives the best we can give her. Once home I'm sure she will be happier.
