This little one was something of a surprise pup. The owners adopted mum not knowing she was hiding a single pup. She came in for sterilization but we discovered her. A few weeks later and voila! Happy ending.

As we approach Easter we always see plenty of dogs who’ve raided the chocolate stash. Please be careful as chocolate is really not good for our canine friends - the higher the cocoa content the worse so dark chocolate is a big no no. Chocolate is also bad for cats, they just seem too smart to eat it in large amounts!

As a clinic we have always been very conscious of the work/life balance of our staff. We stopped after hours and reduced weekend work many years ago as emergency vets opened in our area. We are however very conscious that some clients struggle to get to the clinic during the week hence we still open from 8am to midday on Saturdays. Online booking has meant Saturday appointments get booked very early in the week so we have decided to limit Saturday morning bookings to telephone only. This allows us to triage bookings giving preference to unwell pets over routine procedures. If possible we encourage clients to book routine procedures such as vaccinations during week days - consults are available from 8.30am to 5.30pm Monday to Friday so plenty of slots for everyone. Many thanks for your understanding.

Happy new year to everyone! We’re excited to announce a new addition to the St Francis family. Josh Lewis has worked at St Francis on Saturday mornings for several years while studying Veterinary Science at Murdoch University. More recently he has completed many weeks of work experience with us whilst completing his studies. As a new graduate he will receive all the support he needs but has the huge advantage of already knowing the clinic and its clients very well. Join us in welcoming Josh to St Francis.
