Hi All!

We are excited to invite a couple of people to be involved in the life of our very special brumby pony Mirri, for a 2-month period (with options for an extended part-lease). We have created a package offer that outlines the framework of support we will provide for both her and the humans involved.

Our aim is to ensure there is value for the participant through both learning and establishing a language with Mirri based on connection and trust along with physical and emotional safety and promotion of wellness for horse and human🐴💚🍎

Safe Pony Play in Nature – Winter Holiday Programs 2021 🐴🌳❄️

Session Dates:
1. Tuesday 29 June 10am – 12.30 pm
2. Tuesday 29 June 2pm – 4.30pm
3. Thursday 1 July 10am – 12.30pm
4. Thursday 1 July 2pm – 4.30pm

Our Intention:
To offer small groups of children (no more than 6) opportunities to:
• Enjoy Nature in the company of humans and horses
• Gain confidence through connection with a particular pony
• Learn how to stay safe and help your pony pal to stay safe too
• Learn a bit about ourselves in the process ….

Information about Booking:
Age/Ability/Experience …
Ideally the groups would have broad similarity in age and experience but diversity can also be great …
Cost
$80/child or $60 each for siblings or concession.

- 8-12 years – younger kids can come, but depending on level of confidence and experience may require adult accompaniment.

- These holidays we are offering small group pony connection, nature adventure sessions.

- 6 kids per group, 2 kids will be responsible to work together to guide there pony on a trail walk. Navigating natural obstacles like creek crossings, logs and windy trails that requires listening to the ponies, trust and leadership. Each child will have the opportunity to ride for 10 mins or so part way through the journey at a place that is safest for learning riding. This is optional.
- Parents are welcome to accompany their child, or meet back after the adventure.

- 10am-12pm or 2-4pm – Monday or Thursday. We can arrange other times too. Please contact for more info or to book 🐴👏

Hi all

We are excited to be offering DNS yoga sessions Tuesday’s and Thursday’s 11am- 12:30.

These are small group sessions tailored to developing the body (and nervous system) for riding.

Dynamic Neuromuscular Stabilisation applied to connection with horses offers a human movement training system that allows riders to develop to their athletic potential. Our goal is to develop strength, coordination, dynamic movement awareness and control that allows us to not impede the horses movement and actually assist more biomechanically correct and better feeling riding dynamics with horses. This enhances the potential for riding to become something that can develop friendship and positive based leadership with horses. Shaping a receptive and willing horse that reflects our best self.

We are lucky to have Prague school Certified DNS movement trainer Debra Rodrigues, who leads these sessions.

$30 per session.

Holiday pony connection program’s for kids ⛰ 🐴 🧝‍♀️ 🧝🏻 🌳

Next week we are offering holiday programs for kids, who are wishing to connect with ponies in a way that supports the mental, physical and emotional wellbeing and development of both human and pony.

First, we will focus on creating space for the humans to transition into a more self-regulated, centred and focused state. This will involve developing more coordination and becoming practised in moving in a way that will optimise the riding experience – for pony and human! The purpose is to allow a connected and harmonious dynamic with the ponies, where the kids are receptive, responsive and in tune both physically and mentally with their ponies. To support them in learning to ride well and in a way that is sustainable and healthy for both them and the pony.

Kids will learn to receive non-verbal feedback through ponies body language and expressions and also to identify and listen to their own internal guidance systems. Allowing them to engage with the horse from a place of friendliness, respect and on the level of the nervous system. Definition and implementation of personal boundaries with the horses and other safety awareness is an important aspect of this work.

Movement Therapist and Trainer Debra Rodriguez is facilitating the movement practice component and will also assist with the riding, to allow correct postural riding patterns. Riding is not compulsory or necessary to benefit from these sessions. These sessions are informed by the principles of DNS, a revolutionary approach to movement optimisation (https://www.rehabps.com/REHABILITATION/Home.html)

🌾 Approx. 2 hours without ponies, 2 hours with.

🌾 The first group is for girls 6-12 years, 11am-3pm Tuesday 6/4. $40 per hour, per child ($160)

🌾 The second group is for boys 6-12 years 11am-3pm Thursday 8/4

🌾 Maximum of 6 kids per group.

~ On the Path of Harmony🐴🧝🏼~

This participant is learning that when we notice the small things, are aware of how we feel - and want to know how the horse feels, that we can become more comfortable around the horse. He’s finding out that the horse will be more likely to choose to trust him when he approaches with an attitude and body language that it understands and finds supportive and reassuring.

A glimpse into the session of a participant of Lighthorse Equine Supported Mentorship Programs. Thank you Travis for your willingness to share some of your experience🙋🏽‍♂️🐴

Transitioning into high school was a challenging process for Trav. His mother recognised a need for Mentorship, and her knowing of his trust and natural affinity to animals, led her to call to see what horses could offer.

Trav has developed an incredible level of horse awareness, and from that, the non-physical connection between he and the horses has become tangible. He sees them for who they are, and they see him in the same way. He understands what the horses need to feel safe and be comfortable with humans - by observing the herd and listening to them. In doing so, starting to develop and trust in more then just his physical senses. And become more grounded and centred within himself. Travis has found that the horses want to be listened to, understood and respected, just like him. Also, that they actually want to participate and connect with him - when he approaches in the way they understand and that feels good to them (notice the body language mirroring and harmony in the photos).

The fact the horses have no judgement and only ask for authenticity and presence if he’s wishing to connect, can create space around symptoms like anxiety, allowing new pathways of connection and joy to open up. When these patterns are absent of conditioned patterns that were causing limitations, the growth and development a person may experience can be huge. These ‘mind/body system upgrades’ flow through and improve many aspects of life.

Something I love about the process I witness is that the horse becomes the teacher, healer and guide. That the lessons learnt/experiences had, is according to what the person is most needing. Connection happens through the heart. The mind must become still. The horses - with their presence and grace, support the mind in letting go. I believe this is one core aspect of why connection with horses can be so therapeutic, and also why the process works at a deep level of mind and body.
