Small but helpful rant.
With so much of an information overload available today, it's no wonder that sometimes we have no idea as to whether or not we are on the right track.
To be honest I couldn't give a flying rats bum about how many buckles or titles someone has won or how tough or offensive someone portrays themselves to be. Try hard to recognise the difference between the people that just want to yak about themselves all the time and those that genuinely want to help.
Yes there's some great stuff out there in internet land, but there's a lot of crap too.
Become a good horse person first, then enjoy a sport or a discipline after that, don't think that flash is on your side, steer clear of the jargon, no one gives themselves up more than the jargon spitters. No matter what corner of the planet you're in, find someone to help you that is on your side and your horses side.
(These people really do exist)
Most of all, stay away from people that swing their lead ropes at their damn horses all the time. That crap is infuriating.
A little bit at times maybe is ok, but please stop that, all the time crap!
I'm only writing this because I hear from different people all over the world that are looking for real help, from the right people.
They do exist, so keep looking for real horseman and not the lead rope swinging bull crapers that are full of jargon with no credentials at all.
Ya know riding horses is allowed to be fun and enjoyable. I just see so many people that are twisted and bent all out of shape over this stuff. Stay straight, be cool, have fun and find people that genuinely like teaching and helping. Cheers
