Looking for a meaningful holiday activity that builds confidence and emotional awareness?

Our Horse Wisdom sessions offer hands-on interaction with horses to support emotional regulation, communication, and self-awareness. Through journaling, guided reflection, and practical activities, participants connect with horses and themselves in a calm, supportive environment.
Run by: Experienced Social Workers, Counsellors and Teachers.

What a day at Balance! Between riding lessons and equine therapy sessions, the place was full of energy, laughter, learning, and connection from morning to evening.

We held two hours of Mighty Minis with six amazing little riders aged 4 to 7 – so much confidence and joy packed into those tiny boots!
Across the day, 12 Equine Therapy sessions and 8 riding lessons were delivered with care, enthusiasm, and heart. In total, 7 staff were on site supporting riders, participants, horses, and each other – a huge effort!

A big thank you to today’s hardworking crew – Nikki, Alinta, Kira, Renee, Beth, Paige, Kohia, and our fantastic helper Tilly. Your dedication, calmness and teamwork made everything run smoothly and made a real impact on so many young people.

And of course, a special shoutout to Noa, Emily, and Brax – who are part of our amazing weekly team and contribute so much to keeping things running behind the scenes.

How do we fit it all in? Well… we start early, and we finish late.
We do it because we believe in the power of horses. Whether it’s building confidence in the saddle, creating a space for emotional healing, or just giving someone a moment to breathe and connect – horse riding and equine therapy truly change lives. And that’s why we show up, every day, with passion, patience, and purpose.

To all our equine legends who gave their all today – we know you’ll be enjoying a well-earned rest tonight.

As the owner of Balance, I couldn’t be more grateful for the incredible team I’ve built over the past eight years. Watching this community grow, and seeing the impact we make together, fills me with pride every single day. Thank you all for being part of this journey.

It’s looking like a perfect day for Equine Therapy at Balance Equine Therapies ☁️ With a cool 24° on the way and fresh green paddocks after the rain, our ponies are ready to go and so are we! 🐴🌿

Sessions with our social workers and counsellors will be running throughout the day, offering calm, connection, and support in our safe, horse-filled environment 🧠❤️

Whether it’s building confidence, setting boundaries, or just being present with the ponies – we’re here for it.

🌿🐴 We’re Hiring – Allied Health Professional (Equine-Assisted Therapy) 🐴🌿

Are you a Psychologist, Counsellor, Social Worker, or Occupational Therapist with a passion for helping young people? Are you looking for an opportunity to grow a role into your own, working in a unique, equine-assisted therapy environment?

Balance Equine Therapies is looking for a dedicated Allied Health Professional to join our team! Our long-standing social worker is moving on to new adventures, and we are searching for the right person to take over an existing caseload of 10 participants with the potential to expand the role in line with our business framework and goals.

🛑 This role is for you if you want to:
✅ Use both groundwork and ridden activities with horses to support emotional regulation, social skills, and mental well-being.
✅ Work primarily with children and adolescents in a therapy-focused, not riding-focused environment.
✅ Step into an established client base and have the flexibility to grow your caseload.
✅ Take advantage of a structured transition period, working alongside our current social worker to ensure a smooth handover.
✅ Work independently while being part of a supportive, multidisciplinary team.

📍 Position Details:
• Approx. 10 hours per week (majority of sessions are Saturday mornings 9 AM – 1 PM, with additional weekday sessions).
• Casual or Independent Contractor (ABN holder).
• Opportunities for growth – expand the client list and shape the role in alignment with Balance Equine Therapies’ mission.
• Safe, professional setting with trained therapy horses.

🛑 What You Need:
✔️ Qualifications as a Psychologist, Counsellor, Social Worker, or Occupational Therapist.
✔️ Experience working with children & adolescents in a therapeutic setting.
✔️ Strong interest in equine-assisted therapy (formal training is a bonus but not essential).
✔️ Trauma-informed practice and ability to create a safe, inclusive space.
✔️ Organisational skills to maintain session notes & reports (e.g., NDIS documentation).
✔️ WWCC & Professional Indemnity Insurance.

Unfortunately, this means that any sessions between 11 AM to 3:30 PM may incur some delays on arrival so please leave 20 to 30 minutes extra time so that you are on time for your session.
