🐕 **EXPRESSIONS OF INTEREST – MEET BEN!** 🐾
⭐ A RARE OPPORTUNITY
📍 Townsville, North Queensland
After 12 months of development and training, we're looking at finding Ben his next home!
Due to a change in circumstances, we've made the decision to explore opportunities for Ben, whether that's continuing his journey as a working detection dog or joining an active individual or family as a much-loved companion.
**🐕 A LITTLE ABOUT BEN**
- **Age:** 14 months
- **Breed:** Border Collie × Labrador
- **S*x:** Male (entire)
- **Location:** Townsville, QLD
Ben has spent the past 12 months undergoing extensive training and development towards becoming an operational detection dog.
He's an incredibly well-socialised young dog who has been exposed to a huge variety of environments, people, animals and distractions.
**✅ TRAINING & TEMPERAMENT**
🐾 Excellent socialisation with people, including young children
🐾 Well-socialised with other dogs
🐾 Comfortable in busy and unfamiliar environments
🐾 Walks well on a lead
🐾 House trained
🐾 Crate trained
🐾 Off-lead trained with a reliable recall
🐾 Strong food and toy motivation
🐾 Extensive foundation training in scent detection
**🏃 AN ACTIVE HOME IS A MUST!**
Ben is an energetic, intelligent young dog who absolutely loves having something to do.
He's an excellent running companion and comfortably completes runs of up to 10 km.
Whether you're into running, hiking, camping, outdoor adventures or dog sports, Ben would make a fantastic companion for someone who enjoys an active lifestyle.
He would also be a great candidate for someone interested in continuing his scent detection training as a hobby or competitive sport.
**🏡 THE RIGHT HOME**
Ben has been raised in a family environment around young children and is a lovely dog to have around.
However, he's not a dog suited to sitting in the backyard all day.
We're looking for someone who understands the needs of an active working-breed cross and can provide the physical exercise, mental stimulation and ongoing training he deserves.
It's not often you come across a young dog with this level of training, environmental exposure and development already invested in him.
A huge amount of time, effort and resources have gone into developing Ben, and our priority is finding him the right home where he can continue to thrive.
**📩 INTERESTED?**
We're currently taking expressions of interest from suitable individuals, families and working-dog organisations.
If you think Ben could be the right fit, please send us a message with a little information about yourself, your lifestyle and the home you could offer him.
