Just a little update on our new van 🚐

I’ve had a few people asking lately where the new van is. To give you an update, the van has had the fitout completed however it is now off the road for repairs 🙈

The week we went to put the van on the road, we took it for a drive and the dash lit up with a dozen electrical faults. We thought it would be a simple diagnostic issue however… it turns out rats have eaten through all of the electrical wiring so the van requires a complete wiring replacement 😩🐀

We’re currently liaising with the dealership to sort this out so you will still be seeing the trailer for a little longer!

On the positive side, our old van gets new air conditioning installed this week so we will be all set with fully air conditioned vehicles in time for summer 😁☀️

The first of many adventures... 🐾

Today we had the pleasure of meeting Chai, a gorgeous little Spoodle with the biggest smile and an endlessly curious personality.

His very first Puppy Introduction was a wonderful success. He explored, learned, built confidence... and even decided it was the perfect time for a little nap during his blow dry 🐶

At Doggy Dayspa, our Puppy Introduction sessions are never rushed. Every puppy is given the time and space to explore new sights, sounds and equipment at their own pace. 🐶 WHAT IS A PUPPY INTRODUCTION? 🛁✨

Many people think a puppy’s first grooming appointment is simply about getting them clean.

In reality, it’s about building confidence.

A Puppy Introduction is designed to gently introduce your puppy to the sights, sounds and sensations they’ll experience throughout their grooming journey. Just like socialising them to new people, places and experiences, early positive exposure to grooming helps create calm, confident dogs in the future.

During their appointment, we take things slowly and focus on helping your puppy feel safe and comfortable while introducing them to:

🐾 Being handled by a groomer
🐾 Standing on the grooming table
🐾 The sounds of clippers and dryers
🐾 Brushing and combing
🐾 Nail trimming
🐾 Ear cleaning
🐾 Bathing and drying

Our Puppy Introduction includes a bath, blow dry, nail trim, ear clean and paw pad tidy, along with plenty of positive reinforcement and gentle encouragement.

We also take the time to discuss your puppy’s coat type and provide advice on how to maintain their coat between appointments, helping to prevent matting and prepare them for future grooming needs.

✨A groom is never just a haircut✨

This week I was privileged to spend some quality time with beautiful Arthur 🐶

At 14years young, Arthur is a gentle and quiet little man who likes to spend his day swimming in the bay 💦 and sleeping in the sun ☀️

Arthur was such a joy to be around… old dogs have a quiet sense of grace about them, we can learn so much from their kind and accepting little spirits.

Old dogs like Arthur are tricky to groom. They’re not as strong so they can’t stand for long, or lift their legs to allow us access to the tricky spots, and their skin is paper thin so we have to groom very carefully…

But sometimes it’s not about a pretty groom….

Its about giving back the love 💕 they so freely give to us, making them feel special and appreciated, and having a haircut that’s going to be much more comfortable to enjoy morning swims and sleeping in the sun ☀️

There’s something special about a German Shepherd. For those that own one you know what I’m talking about 😁

The way they talk the whole time in little whines and barks. Clyde and I had a good chat… 😅

And I’m sure he’s feeling much better after a good deshed 😁
