Started weaning - day 1, 4 boys. Weaning day 2 - twin brothers escaped back to mum ha ha ha. Blocked under the gate, take 2 this evening 😀 Joys of weaning - lot of noise from kids & mums side.

Important to know when buying goats, as pets or breeding - they must have EID tag.

Choosing the right tag for sheep and goat eID 🐑🐐

How to know you have the right eID device?
✅ National Livestock Identification System (NLIS) eID devices have a 16-digit NLIS ID code.
✅ It has the NLIS logo.
✅ It has a microchip, containing a 16-digit Radio Frequency Identification (RFID) number.
✅ It’s for the right species. Only use sheep devices in sheep, and goat devices in goats.
✅ Pink post-breeder NLIS eID devices must be used in animals not born on their current location PIC and/or have lost their original eID tag.

From 1 January 2027, all sheep and goats of any age must have one NLIS eID device before they leave any property.

Welcome rain over the last 3 days with room service :-) quick dash outside for everyone for a bit of green grass. Boys have been "ringed" except those staying as bucklings.

We had a great day at Taree Show with our friends from Pine Creek Pygmies (Stirling's mum Naomi Ingram) & several of Stirling's babies of various colours & 2 mummas Lotte & Hannah. Big thank you to NPGAA & especially Naomi. We had to check a few pockets to make sure babies didn't disappear ha ha ha.

Come & see us tomorrow at the Taree show. A few of our goaties will be there as well as few Pine Creek stud girls, where our buck Stirling came from. Organized by NPGAA we are lucky to have been invited. We also play a small sponsorship part of Taree Show, for the first time.
