🐾 Puppies are born without sight, without hearing, and completely dependent on their mother.

🐾 For the first two weeks, they spend almost all their time eating and sleeping.

🐾 Their sense of smell is active from birth … this helps them find mum to nurse and makes their relationship with their breeder last a lifetime !

🐾 Puppies can’t regulate their own body temperature, so warmth from mum, littermates and heating pads is essential.

🐾 Early milk, called colostrum, provides vital antibodies to help build our babies immune system before vaccinations can be administered .

🐾 Tiny twitching during sleep is called “activated sleep” … it’s important for muscle and brain development.

🐾 Babies umbilical cords fall off within the first few days. Mums usually chew the umbilical cord at birth with our supervision to a good length .

🐾 daily weighing shows us weight gain is rapid, our babies almost double their birth weight in the first 7-10 days

🐾 Around day 14, puppies eyes and ears start to open, revealing a whole new world. Are you ready for that? They become little people then!

🐾 Gentle early handling by humans supports socialization and bonding.

Success isn’t about luck; it’s about doing the work and not giving up. In the beginning I couldn’t shave feet, scissor hair, or band topknots … sheer determination and passion! This is no easy breed to show or learn to groom.


What are your goals with your dogs that have paid off ? They can seem so small to others but to us they are huge. Let’s not forget to celebrate the small steps that make a huge difference over time!

Aust. Champion Sirokko Queen O The Slipstream “Valerie” wins Runner Up in Group, Intermediate in Group and Intermediate in Show at Robertson Agricultural Show Saturday. she won about 4x her body weight in potatoes 🤣 and lots of other goodies !

Thank you to all the judges for your awards and who showed Valerie for Group while I took Bianca in the ring also. Carol I so appreciate all your help over the years and allowing me to use your beautiful boys to end up with such lovely babies to go on with.

A massive shout out to Kazoo ( )for taking Bianca in for group while I had my toy poodle Valerie to show! I was the proudest of how Bianca took that all in her stride. You are a top bloke Kazoo 👏👏👏 Bianca adored you 🥰

Bianca is sporting her new trim now she has turned 1 year of age. I’m still tweaking it but do we ever stop trying to perfect our haircuts on our poodles ???

I couldn’t be prouder of you, bless your little heart! After not being in the show ring for 1.5 years you strutted back in like you had never had a break from it! What a super good girl!

We attended 2 of the Wollongong Back to the beach shows this weekend, what a venue thank you as always for a brilliant show, great food and views!

The radar didn’t lie it bucketed rain ☔️ on the first day of the Bulli shows. Lucky for the poodles 🐩 not while we were in the ring! Thank you to everyone who cheers us on when we are out with either of the girls ! Thank goodness we took the darker of the two for that weather 😳🙊.

Thank you to all the judges from the weekend for the awards and also the very positive, encouraging compliments about Our Girl (Sharon Hall. Morlae Poodles ). Bianca is a total joy to take to shows! Bless her happy heart 💓

We sure did follow the sun this weekend … the weather Gods smiled on us with predictions of inclement weather 🌦️ not effecting Hillsborough Show Grounds at all! Warm, dry, humid and sunny ☀️ thanks again for a brilliant weekend away with the family. 🐩❤️
