Hi Gardeners The Winter crops are flourishing in the sunshine and we harvested Broccoletti, Kale and herbs. 🤞the Makrut Lime tree, currently overwhelmed with mites, will recover after painting the bark with lime sulphur. The herb boxes were refreshed with oregano, continental parsley, marjoram and land cress. Chillies were pruned back. King St Nursery kindly donated some chicory plants and I look forward to tuning into the podcast Cara made on chicory. J🧑‍🌾

Hi Gardeners
Today we put a lesson learnt at CoS’s DIY Fertiliser Workshop with Compostable Kate into action. We had a few dry days this week so drenched all our herbs, flowers, fruit trees and vegetables with a ‘worm tea’ made with dechlorinated water and worm castings from the worm farm.
Flowers and radishes were planted and a few radishes and mustard greens were harvested.

We welcomed the sun which shone during our working bee this morning. After weeks of wet gloomy weather it’s good to see the kale, chard, bush peas, radishes, lettuce are thriving. Carrot, beetroot, alyssum, lettuce, snow pea seeds have rotted in the wet soil. This morning we harvested mustard greens, chard and radish and replanted basil and mint as well as lettuce and parsley seeds.

Another busy and productive hour in the garden planting brassicas, peas and sweet peas, harvesting chillies, Mizuna and Gota Kola as well as the necessary housekeeping to keep our birdbath and dog water bowl clean and to free our outside boundary fence from weeds. The coffee and chat at Shortlist was much enjoyed. J🧑‍🌾
