Esme is a pigeon that survived a pellet gun shoot wound and is also blind in one eye. She has been living with us for a few years and loves being indoors ❤️

Kojak took many weeks to recover from a severe head wound that was left for 24 hours before I got the call and he finally received the help he should have received so much earlier, a wound like this needs pain relief and treatment asap, the risk of infection is very high. Kojak was a real good patient and made a full recovery.

Dotti was a adult spotted Dove that came into care with a severe open wound and she had lost a lot of blood, fast treatment and pain relief was crucial. They are very delicate little creatures but she pulled through and made a full recovery. ❤️‍🩹

I am currently caring for 23 birds, which has been a significant undertaking, fortunately all are doing well and none of them are on the critical list anymore which is always a big relief. It’s been hectic at times specially when trying to accommodate some birds together as I have run out of cages and they simply fight 😂

Macy the pigeon that walked into a pharmacy to get help ❤️

This is a unique story about a very smart pigeon I named Macy, who walked into a busy pharmacy in Runaway Bay on Thursday night to get some help. A lovely shop assistant saw the battered bird with severe injuries and called Wildcare, and the hotline duty officer, Michelle, called me to see if I could help the poor bird. She sent me some photos, and it was clear that the bird was in a critical condition. Once Pigeon Macy arrived at my place, she received treatment and was placed into the ICU. It was a rough night, but she survived, and I am grateful to Wildcare hotline officer Michelle for arranging Joseph to transport Macy and give her a second chance. Macy will recover from whatever has happened to her and is doing very well. 💐💐
