Regular brushing for double-coated dog breeds is so important.
It helps:
🟢 remove dead fur and knots
🟣 prevent painful matting and skin infections
🟡 regulate temperature
🔵 distribute natural oils
⚪ reduce shedding of the loose fur (it won't stop the shedding, but it will help minimise it around your house).
To brush your double-coated dog thoroughly, you will need to use a slicker brush, followed by a comb. For any tight knots, a dematting tool is also helpful.
Prior to brushing, I also use G R E E N P E T grooming drops, and also find that a light spritz of a natural detangling spray in knotty areas before brushing can help make the experience kinder on the dog.
