LANA & STEELE
June 2025
— Working with difficult dogs…
Earlier this year, in June, I was contacted by a desperate owner in need of guidance with his two rambunctious pups, Lana and Steele.
It was a classic “chicken or the egg” situation — these two wild fur-kids were getting more hyper and reactive on walks. Pulling like crazy, egging each other on, reacting to other dogs — it was chaos! Their owner felt overwhelmed and stopped walking them altogether. That only made things worse — more energy, more frustration, more mischief at home… plants tipped over, things chewed up, and plenty of bickering between them.
He finally called me for help, and I was happy to step in with my dog training and behaviour know-how to get them back on track.
We got to work straight away — I used my athleticism (and patience!) to manage their boisterous lead behaviour, introduced clear, repetitive commands, switched up their leads and walking routes, allowed plenty of sniffing time, and made sure they were rewarded when they got home. Then I worked with their owner on “driving the driver” — building his confidence and helping him master their new walking style.
Steeley loved our sessions so much that he’d farewell me at the fence every time I left 🐾
After just a couple of weeks of focused training, their owner felt confident walking them again.
No job is too short or too hard if it means your gorgeous pets get the enrichment and balance they deserve.
