✨ Willa-Ley Family Spotlight – The Taaffe Family ✨

Some families just hold a very special place in our hearts - and the Taaffe family are absolutely one of them 💛

In 2024, they welcomed their first Willa-Ley puppy, Millie, from our Oakley & Harlow - Tangled litter. From the very beginning, Millie became such a loved and cherished part of their family that it wasn’t long before they knew she needed a sibling.

When we announced our Oakley & Skye litter, the Taaffe family had already been on our waiting list for over a year - patiently waiting for the day they could welcome another Willa-Ley puppy home. That day finally came on 10th January, when Shadow packed his bags and headed off to join his big sister.

At first, Millie wasn’t quite sure about her little half-brother… but it didn’t take long at all before curiosity turned into friendship. Now the two of them are inseparable - best mates who play, explore and grow together every day 🐾🐾

We are lucky enough to receive regular updates from the Taaffe family, and it brings us so much joy seeing Millie and Shadow thriving side by side in such a loving home. Watching families return to us for their second puppy is one of the greatest compliments we can receive as breeders.

Thank you to the Taaffe family for trusting us again and for giving both Millie and Shadow the beautiful life they deserve. Seeing our puppies so deeply loved makes everything we do worthwhile 💛

Lately we’ve seen a few comments and messages throwing around the term “puppy farmers.”
This to us is extremely hurtful.
So we’d like to address this once - clearly, calmly, and honestly.

Willa-Ley Border Collies is NOT a puppy farm.

We are a small, registered family breeder with the NSW Pet Registry.
Our dogs are not kennel dogs. They are our pets, raised in our home and on our property, living alongside our children and family life every single day.

Here’s what that actually looks like:

✔ Registered breeder with NSW Pet Registry
✔ Small-scale breeding - not mass production - our girls will only have a litter once every 2 years and ONLY if they are physically fit to do so
✔ Puppies raised inside our family home
✔ Exposed to children, everyday noises, animals and wheelchairs
✔ Fully vaccinated, microchipped and vet health checked
✔ Parasite treated from 2 weeks of age
✔ Carefully selected breeding pairs focused on temperament and health
✔ Extensive puppy packs provided with every puppy - that go beyond industry standards
✔ Lifetime breeder support - we will always take our dogs back if needed
✔ We know every puppy and every family personally

A puppy farm prioritises volume and profit.
An ethical breeder prioritises welfare, temperament, education and lifelong responsibility.

We breed occasionally, with purpose - not for numbers, not for money, and never at the expense of our dogs’ wellbeing.

We welcome genuine questions and respectful conversations.
What we won’t engage with is misinformation, bullying, or accusations from people who have never met us, our dogs, or our program.

🐾 Fly Has Found Her Forever Home 💙

Our sweet girl Fly has officially started her next adventure - now known as Bluey - and what a perfect family she has found.

Bluey has headed down to the bottom of Victoria to join a beautiful family who were so proudly a family of three… and are now joyfully becoming a family of four. Watching families grow with one of our puppies is one of the most special parts of what we do.

Her new world is filled with everything a Border Collie girl could dream of: beach trips, long walks, salty sea air, and plenty of treats from their local dog-friendly cafés. We already know she’s going to be right in the middle of every adventure, soaking up every cuddle and every moment.

Bluey, you were loved deeply here, and now you are off to be loved just as fiercely in your forever home. Thank you to this wonderful Victorian family for choosing a Willa-Ley puppy and giving our girl a life full of memories waiting to be made.

🐾 Poppy Has Found Her Forever Home 🌸

Our sweet girl Poppy, now lovingly named Jessie, has started her next chapter in the most heart-warming way - on a beautiful farm right here in the Hunter Valley.

Jessie is now the first puppy for two young children, and it’s already clear that she is going to grow up surrounded by love, laughter, and endless adventures. From the very beginning, she has been absolutely spoiled and cherished as a true member of the family.

And true to her clever little nature, Jessie has already begun showing just how intelligent she is - learning new tricks and even retrieving her ball like a pro. Such a bright, eager girl, and such a perfect match for such a lovely family.

Watching our puppies go on to become childhood best friends is one of the most special parts of what we do. Jessie, you were adored here, and now you are right where you belong.

Thank you to this wonderful Hunter Valley family for giving our girl such a beautiful start to life.

🐾 Shadow Has Found His Forever Home 🖤

On Saturday, our gorgeous boy Shadow headed off to his forever home with a very special family - one that already holds a place in our hearts here at Willa-Ley.

This beautiful Hunter Valley family first joined our journey in 2024 when they welcomed Millie from Harlow and Oakley’s litter into their lives. From the very beginning, Millie became so deeply loved and cherished that they didn’t hesitate to come back to us when they decided their family needed one more paw to complete it.

To be trusted again for a second puppy is something we never take lightly. It means everything to us to know that our dogs are not only loved, but truly become part of the family.

Shadow is heading into a home already filled with love, experience, and the joyful chaos that only a Border Collie can bring - and we couldn’t imagine a more perfect match for him. We know he will be adored just as much as his big sister Millie, and we can’t wait to watch their bond grow.

Thank you for choosing Willa-Ley again and for giving another one of our babies the life every puppy deserves. Once a Willa-Ley family, always a Willa-Ley family. 🤍

✨ Bonnie & Bella Update ✨

We absolutely love receiving updates from our extended Willa-Ley family, and these two girls never fail to make us smile 💛

Bonnie and Bella, from our very first litter, by Harlow and Oakley, are thriving in their home in Orange and have well and truly found their place as cherished family members.

These girls have already experienced so much together — from crisp country days to their very first snow ❄️, and plenty of regular outings that continue to build their confidence and curiosity about the world around them.

What we love most is seeing how Bonnie and Bella, though sisters, are truly chalk and cheese. Raised together and inseparable, yet each with their own beautifully unique personality.🐶

Bella is confident and eager — the moment the car cover and tether come out, she’s right there, ready to go and see what adventure awaits. Bonnie, on the other hand, is a little more reserved, tolerating car trips for now but gaining confidence with every outing.

Side by side, they balance each other perfectly, supporting one another as they experience the world together. Watching them grow, learn, and settle so deeply into family life is exactly why we do what we do.🐾

Thank you to their beautiful family for the regular updates and for allowing us to share these moments. Seeing our puppies grow into such loved companions is the greatest reward 💕

Our beautiful girl Fly has now had a deposit placed and will soon be heading off to her forever home 💖

Fly will be travelling all the way to Victoria to join a lovely family with children. She has a big adventure ahead of her, but we know she’s going to take it all in her stride — especially knowing there will be plenty of beach trips, fresh air and new memories waiting for her 🏖️🌊

Fly is still only a little one and will remain here with us, growing and thriving, until she is ready to leave our care and her new family make the long trip to come meet her face to face. Her new family is already counting down the days until they can bring her home, and we couldn’t be happier for them. 🥰
