With the breeding season in full swing the riding horses have been enjoying paddock rest. Now the positive pregnancy tests are rolling through there is time to bring them back in....
Looking for his new forever home, Lincoln Road NZ.
6yo gelding, approximately 15.3hh
First the bad news: no beating around the bush, Link has ugly front legs! The near side tendon is uniformly thickened from knee to fetlock and the off side has pronounced fluid pockets above the fetlock. He has many racing miles under his belt and the tendon injury ended his successful racing career. His last racing stable retained him for the length of his rehabilitation program and sent him to me in terrific order, ready to commence the next stage of his preparation for life after racing.
The good news is how easily he is making that transition. He has the ground manners you should expect from a horse that has had the travelling he has. He is a dream to float, good to trim (I haven't had shoes on him and probably won't, we run our riding team barefoot where we can) and will stand tied up all day. Good with cars, bikes and dogs.
He has had limited riding but is reliable and fun to ride. He has a lovely big walk, good trot and a soft comfortable canter. He is not yet strong enough to hold the canter for long and still transitions through the pace. No nasties but will pigroot in canter, especially at upward transition.
Not a beginner's horse as he is still green and learning, looking for a rider with some experience and balance.
Ideally suit pleasure or trail riding.
Asking $600. Located Shepparton, Victoria.
