The struggle is real, the number of clients we have with overweight & obese dogs who will die younger than they should because their parents refuse to stop feeding / overfeeding the dog.

If your parents love your dog so much that they show their love with food - let them know they won't be able to love the dog for as long as fat dogs die on average 3 years earlier than dogs at a healthy weight.

Unless there is a medical reason as diagnosed by your Vet that is causing your dogs unhealthy weight, your dogs environment can be managed better to help them be healthier.

Our truthful opinion is no, and here’s why👇🏼

With the popularity of vegan lifestyles rising, this has led some people to consider feeding vegan diets to their pets as a “cruelty-free” alternative to normal meat-based kibble. These marketing “geniuses” have jumped on the trend and this has led people to believe that their dog or cat is able to thrive on a meatless / vegan diet, they feel comfortable imposing their ethical views about eating animal products or the agriculture industry onto their pet’s lifestyle as well. 🌱

This ideology is a situation in which human morality, not only doesn’t apply to animals but also ends up being dangerously inhumane and borderline abusive when the person feeding said vegan diet thought it to be ethical. Canine and feline bodies are not built to live singularly on plant matter… both cats and dogs evolved to survive on a meat-based diet - dogs as opportunistic omnivores. 🥩

Dogs on a vegan diet are very likely to suffer from malnourishment that will drastically affect their quality of life. Proper, unbiased research into the evolutionary history and gastrointestinal tracts of both dogs and cats proves that it is unwise, if not outright cruel, to feed them a truly vegan diet. 🚫

Want to transition your dog to raw but unsure on how to go about it ⁉️

When transitioning your dog to a raw diet, it’s super important to do this transition slowly. This will allow you to keep an eye on your dog so that you can see whether they have an intolerance or that their stomachs don’t have any issues with certain proteins and raw food. 🥩

If you’re not ready to make the leap to raw food just yet, you can always start adding things like fruit & veg to start your dog on their journey ✌🏼

While transitioning your dog, as mentioned above take it slow. Do the transition over a number of days to ensure your dog takes to it well! 🐕

Start by taking out about 25% of your dogs kibble and replace it with raw. After a few days, move to 50%, then 75%, then 100% raw!🥩 Do this transition over a couple of weeks to ensure your dog doesn’t get an upset stomach and make it a smooth transition! 🦴

First off, let’s look at the benefits:

A dogs digestion track was created to digest raw, hunted food. They didn’t cook it, they didn’t process it until it turned to a powdered biscuit. They ate it fresh. With no more than 14% carbohydrates, however most kibbles have around 25-40% carbs due to having to use starch to be able to bind the kibble. This can’t be healthy for our beloved furry friends right?

Feeding kibble to your dog is essentially feeding them fast food, for every meal of their life.

If you don’t like the idea of feeding raw food to your dog or feel as if you couldn’t stomach it, that is completely fine. We have a range of different pre made raw options for you to make it as easy as possible along your raw journey!
