Thank you Margo The Dog Magician for teaching us this one with your in home training when we got our first girl Maple.
Starting boundary training with our new 8 week old puppy. No need for baby gates when you teach them that they arent allowed to step over this stick. Consistency is key. The best part is it’s so portable and you can take the stick anywhere you are visiting and they know they aren’t allowed to cross that line.

Billy is great with kids of all ages,sociable with other dogs in off leash parks and loves going for a walk and playing in water.
Sleeps inside and has access to inside or outside
Very much loves cuddles and will follow you around all day, but is comfortable being left on his own for the day.

We wouldn’t normally be allowed inside the fenced off section of the kids playground, but being the only ones crazy enough to be at the dog park in this weather we had to be a bit cheeky and have some fun in the water. Lots of pent up energy being stuck inside for days

We truly believe in the benefits of crate training.

Why do we crate train our puppies?

Our number 1 goal is to raise confident, independent, resilient adult dogs. Crate training provides the perfect way to lay the foundation for achieving this.

Yes you need to wake up for the first week or so (give or take each individual puppy) and take them out for a wee in the middle of the night, but this is a case of short term pain for long term gain. By 3 weeks your pup will sleeping soundly from 9:30pm- 5/6am holding their bladder and not barking when put in the crate or to be let out.

The long term gain being a dog that is comfortable and content sleeping absolutely anywhere; camping in a tent, the vets, a friends house!

Here’s our tips for preventing a puppy barking to be let out at the same time every morning… early!

👉 Vary bed time. We will do sometime between 9-10:30pm
👉 Set an alarm and let your pup have a toilet break before they cry to be let out. (We will do sometime between 1-4am depending on age of the puppy)
👉 Use a towel over the crate and low volume music to resettle and drown out the chorus of Dawn and sunlight.
👉 Vary when you let them out in the morning. For us it’s anytime between 5-6:30am.
👉 Keep the first part of the morning fairly boring so they don’t associates fun things as soon as they wake up.
👉 Crate during the day for short periods here and there.

Grateful to have the best guardian family for our first future stud boy Amity’s Gold. Have loved having him in our home for the past few weeks, but it’s time for him to go to his forever family and live his best life.
