This Friday we’ll be closing our shop a little earlier than usual (5pm instead of 7pm) because… we’ll be at Lakeside Yoichi – Asian Night Market at UQ! 🌙✨

🌸 Maki-e Workshop ✨ Japanese Craft + Matcha Sweets 🌸

Ever wanted to try maki-e — the elegant Japanese art of decorating with lacquer and shimmering metallic powder?

Join us for a hands-on workshop in collaboration with Nanaya (Brisbane’s famous matcha dessert café)!
You’ll use real Japanese urushi lacquer to create your own sparkling design on a small plate, and enjoy a matcha drink & dessert 🍵✨

✒️ What’s maki-e?
A traditional craft where metallic powder is sprinkled over lacquer — no art skills needed! We have lots of beautiful templates so anyone can create a one-of-a-kind piece.

✨ What an amazing day at Matsuri Brisbane! ✨
So grateful to everyone who came by — it was such a joy to see our regular customers outside the shop and to reconnect with friends we’ve met through markets.

Loved the energy of coming together with fellow stallholders and celebrating Japanese culture as one big community. 🌸

A huge thank you to Seinendan-ブリスベン青年団 and all the volunteers who organize this incredible event every year — your hard work makes it all possible. 🙏
We’ll keep doing our best to support the Japanese community in Brisbane and to keep sharing Japanese culture and food with you all. 💚

We would like to inform you that from August 1st, we will be making slight adjustments to some of our prices.
This change is due to a significant increase in the cost of matcha and other raw ingredients.

At NANAYA, we are committed to maintaining the highest quality while keeping our prices as reasonable as possible. We have absorbed rising costs for as long as we could, and this revision is necessary to continue offering you the best possible products and service.
