Quality 3 year old Caelius gave PGR another victory to add to the stellar group of up and coming young horses to feature at the track recently with fine wins.

Recuperato, Freshen, Bajaria and now Caelius have layed strong foundations to the potential of the young stock currently in the stable with more to come according to stable racing manager Manny Gelagotis.

Unfortunately Jye McNeil was unable to ride the horse today at Moe and was admirably replaced by Ben Allen who gave the exciting C**t a 10/10 steer destroying his rivals late showing he maybe a stayer of the future.

Huge congratulations to all connections & very exciting to see the first win in the new silks of the Forbes Brothers of Zilzie Wine fame who support the stable so well including the stables first win with Rob Cummings who bred the beautiful son of Pierro out of the good mare Salina.

Huge thanks to the staff and all behind the scenes that make these wins so good to enjoy ⭐️

Tonight we took a BLUEBLOOD Filly to the races & we go home without her. Thank you to the Racing Victoria Vet team, it’s a horrible experience for everyone. Thanks to Longwood Farm, Segenhoe group & Steve Forbes for entrusting us, she had it all in front of her.

More black type for Group 3 winner Recuperato with a superb closing second in the Group 3 Sapphire Stakes at Caulfield.

After a recent setback, it was great to see her return to her best form and end the Spring Carnival on a good note for Team PGR. A big well done to everyone involved behind the scenes and congratulations to connections including a great ride by Declan Bates.

Recuperato could be now targeted to the Magic Millions in January.

He was selected & purchased at the 2016 Magic Millions Yearling Sale by Manny Gelagotis & James Bester $140,0000

He earned $1.7 million & injury curtailed his career post his AJC Derby win.

He was ranked in the world ratings in the top 20 in the world post his AJC Derby victory 2018 & was Australian Champion middle distance galloper after being only one of 9 horses in the history to win the Tulloch Stakes/AJC Derby Double & ran the fastest time in the past 25 years in the race of 2.28.73 defeating Ace High in a mighty battle down the Randwick straight.

He was retired to stud at Magnum Park in Tasmania where he has sired winners however after Colic complications recently he hasn’t made it through which has hit everyone very hard.

Probably the most talented horse to come out of Gippsland winning 5 of his first 10 starts inc a 2yo Maiden win by 4 lengths at Ballarat followed up by a Metro win at Mornington before winning the Carbine Club Stakes G3 at Flemington before the Tulloch Stskes/ AJC Derby double that rose him to the top of his age group defeating the best of his age and trained from Moe.

He was a champion and took the stable around the globe and had a world class ranking that gives his ownership group and the stable great pride.

Horses like this are a miracle to find and we are all very blessed to have had a horse like Levendi in our lives.

To all the people that played a role in his racing and breeding career in particular his ownership group , staff , riders & strappers we thank you for loving and caring for him throughout his life including the vets recently in Tasmania whom we know tried there hardest to help the horse survive.

The stable celebrated in style on Moe Cup Day with a superb double and some near misses.

Quality three year old filly Freshen, by champion stallion Written Tycoon, a 300k yearling out of the 2024 Inglis Melbourne Primer Yearling Sale purchased by PGR Racing demolished a quality field with sustained speed and an aggressive ride by Craig Newitt proved to be the winning formula on debut from a wide barrier.

Raced by a wonderful group of owners! She’ll now be turned out for a spell and will be saved for what looks to be an exciting autumn carnival ahead for Freshen.

New Zealand import House Of Lords, capped off a great day for PGR Racing showing a strong staying performance at her first try at 2050m. The regally bred daughter of leading sire Almanzor looks to be a stayer of the future. Since coming to Australia, she has shown so much promise and a huge congratulations to long term stable clients Steve and Paul Moss for having shares in both winners and this mare looks destined for bigger and better things in the future.

As per usual, a huge thank you to the hard working staff behind the scenes and the owners, including the service providers who form an integral part of our success.

All the runners ran super on the day and congratulations to Craig Newitt on his winning double.

Moonee Valley has a history that can’t be matched & our stable has enjoyed massive success over the past 24 years.

The home of the greatest WFA race the WS COX PLATE will be run tomorrow as the last race for the last time before the entire site is redeveloped.

Team Gelagotis land 2 state double with Bajaria breaking her maiden at Sale and gun wet tracker Margie’s Boy saluting at Mount Gambier.

Bajaria, a 2024 Inglis Easter graduate has a blue chip pedigree being by champion sire I Am Invincible out of a quality mare Oregons Day was purchased for $600,000 by a loyal group of owners and she appears to have a very nice future off today’s win at only start 3. From barrier 1 Jye McNeil controlled the race sitting fourth on the fence before blending in on the corner and knuckling down to fight out a good finish chasing down a bold leader that tried hard late.

Across the border in Mt Gambier star wet track performer Margie’s Boy finally found the right race to win well with stable favourite Campbell Rawiller in the saddle giving him a peach.

Overall a great day for the stable and connections and a great team effort by all behind the scenes.
