Hi all, my socials have been a bit quiet lately as I am currently looking into turning Houdini Home into a non-for-profit.

I want to be able to apply for grants to provide the Port Lincoln community (and wider EP) with free dog and cat microchipping, assisted rehoming services, subsidised/potentially free desexing programs as well as creating a foster system for dogs in the community that need to be rehomed for various reasons including DV situations, imprisonment, death in the family, illness, poundies... etc.

As you all know, the creation of Houdini Home was never about money, it has always been about the animals. By changing to a non-for-profit, it will allow me to somewhat fill the gap that was left after the closure of the RSPCA shelter.

I don't have all the answers just yet but I will get there.

I am hoping to change to a NFP by the start of the new financial year and once I have more information you will be the first to know. Coming into the new financial year, I will be doing a giveaway - 30 FREE microchipping procedures. Please share this post around so we can get Houdini Home out there for our community and the deserving animals in it!!

On Tuesday afternoon I got to meet sweet Koa, AKA Lady... and what a lady she is! I got her microchipped in her own home and she was very relaxed throughout the process. She shares her palace with another cat and two gorgeous doggo's. It was so sweet to watch them all interact together, playing and cleaning one another!
