A hands on zoo aiming to bridge the gap between humans and animals by creating memorable experiences The Zoo is so tranquil, it’s actually therapeutic.

Ranger Red's Zoo & Conservation Park (Previously Peel Zoo) is a boutique, hands-on zoo, in a lush setting on the banks of the Murray River. What makes Ranger Red's Zoo & Conservation Park really unique is the ‘hands-on experience’ you get here. Hand feed the animals, hold a snake, pat a rufous bettong, tickle a ferret... There are well over 200 species of birds and animals that will capture your imagination: koalas, wombats, bettongs, exotic birds, reptiles, spotted quolls, possums, owls... The huge walk-through aviary and Tasmanian Devils are star attractions. Bring a hamper and take advantage of our FREE BBQ facilities. Ranger Red's Zoo & Conservation Park is an awesome location for school camps, excursions, and children’s parties. Their new nocturnal tours are truly amazing. And if you can’t make it to the Zoo, ask about ourZoo2U mobile wildlife display. Ranger Red's Zoo & Conservation Park is only 20 minutes from Mandurah and 1 hour from Perth. It’s just off Pinjarra Road, behind the Pinjarra Golf Club. The Zoo is open daily from 10:00am to 4:00pm weekdays, and 9:00am to 5:00pm weekends, public and school holidays.

A wonderful article, looking into the man behind the Zoo & some of the team that help make it run.

Growing up, Bradley R Holland was always around animals. He’s determined to keep sharing that joy with other kids.

Animal Care Australia supports zoos and wildlife parks

Australian zoos and wildlife parks have evolved quite rapidly from the days of small concrete and steel cages to enclosures that replicate natural environments.
Husbandry and enrichment have kept pace and been the driving force behind this evolution.

Today zoos and wildlife parks predominantly include:
• education
• breeding of threatened species,
• rescue and rehabilitation programs and
• serve as a permanent home for animals where release has been deemed impossible.

They are vital for education, research for conservation purposes, and accordingly must adhere to strict guidelines and legislation regarding all animal behaviours, enclosures and most importantly the welfare of the animals.
