Registered ANKC breeders since 2014 🐾 We are a small family breeder based in Perth, WA.

We breed simply to better the breed, for families who love Labradors as much as we love ours. Our puppies will primarily be sold as pets only on the limited register however mains registration can be discussed. We have a limited number of fur babies as our bi***es will only have one litter every 18+ months & maximum of 4 litters in their lifetime. Our dogs are currently on hiatus participating in conformation shows due to family commitments and Covid-19. (Please note we have recently relocated from Mackay QLD where our kennel was founded)

As the next generation of Orsina mothers (alongside her cousin Ember), Raya has started undergoing all her genetic health screening. This is to ensure we are improving our bloodlines and continuing our ethical breeding practices.
I am super happy and proud to report that Raya has passed the ACHEDS screening for her hips and elbows.

Next will be her DNA 🧬
While she is clear by parentage, we like to have official confirmation and documentation. We also will be checking to see if she is a dominant chocolate or a carrier of the black gene, like her father Goldengirls Murphy. We would one day love to see a rainbow Labrador litter in our future 🤎🖤💛

Raya will hopefully have a litter in the second half of 2027 once she is fully developed turning 2 in July 🐾

Every now and then a litter of pure black Labradors arrives with one puppy wearing a small white patch on its chest, like a tiny medallion. Many people think it is a flaw. It is actually a whisper from history. 🐾

The Labrador descends from the St. John's water dog of Newfoundland, a hardy black dog that often carried white markings on the chest, chin, feet, and muzzle, a sort of faded tuxedo. As the modern breed was refined through the 1800s, breeders selected toward solid coats, but the old genes never fully disappeared. That occasional white chest spot is a living echo of the seafaring ancestor that started it all.

So while the show ring may frown on it, that little splash of white is really a signature from the past. 🌊

A reminder that today's sleek black Lab is only a few generations removed from a working dog on the cold Newfoundland coast.
