Desperate for Love Dog Pound Rescue We are a volunteer run, NFP dog rescue based in Perth WA. As our dogs are usually rescued from pounds, we are often unaware of their age, breed and background.

At Desperate for Love Dog Pound Rescue (DFL) we aim to find rescue dogs their permanent homes with families who will commit to loving them for the rest of their days! The dogs in our care live temporarily with foster families in Perth Metro while we prepare them for adoption; completing their vaccinations, microchipping, desexing & other medical care, and getting to know their personalities and ne

eds. We don’t have a central location as our foster carers are based all over Perth, so you are welcome to view our dogs online at: www.savour-life.com.au/adopt-a-dog/rescue-groups/7422/ and contact us by email if you would like to apply for & meet one of our dogs. Please be aware that each dog may have many applications for their adoption and our goal is to select the home best matched to the needs of the individual dog. Only one applicant can be chosen, & while we do our best to notify unsuccessful applicants or suggest a more suitably matched dog, we appreciate your patience and understanding. While we do try to list an approximate age & breed, there are no guarantees when it comes to rescue dogs. When you adopt a DFL dog, their adoption fee goes towards paying for their vet work along with helping other dogs in need! We also rescue dogs that are very old or ill and care for them under our rescue for whatever time they have left – these are our 'Forever Fosters'. 🐾 Narla has spent too long waiting. She needs out of the kennels💔

This beautiful American Staffordshire Terrior Cross is looking for a foster home or foster with a view to adopt (FVA) where she can finally enjoy the quieter, happier life she deserves.

Narla is a loyal, affectionate girl who simply loves being with her people. She's always up for an outing. A walk? Absolutely. A car ride? Even better. 🚗🐾

After spending an extended period in kennels, Narla will need some time to decompress and remember what home life feels like. She doesn't need anything fancy, just patience, consistency, a comfortable bed and someone willing to let her settle in at her own pace.

Narla would love to be the only pet, so she can enjoy all the attention to herself. Once she bonds with you, expect a very loyal shadow who just wants to be by your side.

🍫 SWEET LITTLE TWIX NEEDS A FAMILY OF HER OWN 🐾🤎

Just look at that little head tilt. 🥹 Twix is a gorgeous Chocolate Labrador cross puppy searching for a very special foster with a view to adopt home — somewhere she can grow up surrounded by love, patience and a family committed to giving her the very best chance at life. 🏡

Twix was born with a congenital eye condition and is awaiting a specialist ophthalmology assessment in September. Her siblings have already been assessed and found to have significant vision impairment, including blindness, so there is a possibility that Twix may face similar challenges.

But Twix doesn’t know she’s “different”. 🤎

She’s still a beautiful little puppy with a whole world to discover — she may just need to learn how to navigate that world a little differently.

One thing Twix does need is a confident, friendly resident dog. 🐕❤️ If her vision is impaired, having a canine friend beside her will provide invaluable reassurance, companionship and guidance as she grows.

Like any puppy, she’ll also need a family ready for all the fun that comes with raising one — positive reinforcement training, socialisation, puppy school, enrichment, toys, games and plenty of safe little adventures.

For now, Twix will be placed on a foster with a view to adopt basis while we await her specialist appointment. Once her assessment is complete and we understand what ongoing care she may need, her placement can progress towards adoption.

Twix doesn’t need someone to feel sorry for her. She needs someone who looks at this beautiful little face and sees all the things she can do, all the love she has to give, and the wonderful life still waiting ahead of her. 🥹🤎

🐾 Poor Princess needs a warm home to call her own❤️

She's already done the hard work. She's learned her manners, worked with her trainer, and made huge progress building her confidence. Now she's waiting for someone to see the sweet, affectionate girl behind those beautiful eyes and choose her for life.

Princess is a gorgeous young Amstaff cross with the softest heart. Pats, kisses, curling up beside you on the couch... being close to her people is her favourite thing in the world. If she could spend every evening snoozing next to you, she'd be perfectly happy.

She's also got a playful side, with the occasional burst of zoomies before she's ready to curl up again. The perfect mix of fun and couch companion.

Princess is house-trained, crate-trained and knows her basic commands. She's gentle taking treats and has been working with her trainer to learn how to make friends with other dogs, making wonderful progress along the way. She can happily live with a well-matched pack with the right introductions and ongoing guidance.

She'll do best with an experienced owner who can continue the structure and training she's already had, but in return you'll have a loyal, loving girl who just wants to be part of your life.

Karla is a beautiful 2-year-old Mastiff cross with a gentle nature and so much love to give. She can be a little shy when first meeting new people, but once she gets to know you, she quickly warms up and loves being part of the family.

Karla is toilet trained and has basic obedience. She has grown up around children of all ages and has always been gentle, patient and well-mannered with them.

Karla is currently living with her owner and, very sadly, needs to be rehomed due to circumstances beyond her control. She currently lives with her sister; however, the girls have developed some conflict around food. Because of this, Karla would be happiest as an only dog, or potentially living with a calm, well-socialised male dog in a dog-savvy home that understands the importance of managing feeding separately and maintaining clear boundaries.

Karla is a loyal, affectionate girl who deserves a fresh start in a home where she can feel safe, loved and settled.

Timmy quietly waits….

He walks gently by your side, sits politely when asked, takes treats with the softest manners, and looks at you with the kind of trust that has to be earned. When he feels safe, his whole heart belongs to you.

Timmy has spent far too long waiting for a family of his own. What he needs isn’t extraordinary… just a calm home, a patient heart, and a woman willing to show him that he’s finally safe.

Meet Mikah, professional snack detector, full-time goofball, and part-time vacuum cleaner. (If it smells edible… he’s already interested. 😋)

This lovable Mastiff cross is bursting with personality, enthusiasm, and enough zoomies to keep everyone entertained. Whether he’s off on a sniffari, leaning in for cuddles, or pulling off tongue gymnastics worthy of the Olympics, Mikah lives life at 110%.

He’s a big, powerful boy with an even bigger heart. Having missed out on training and socialisation early in life, Mikah is still learning the ropes—but with treats involved, he’s all ears! He’s already picking up basic commands and is eager to learn with someone who can provide consistency, clear boundaries, and plenty of positive reinforcement.

Because of his size and excitement, Mikah is looking for an experienced owner who understands large breeds and is ready to help him become the amazing dog we know he can be.

Underneath all the goofy expressions and oversized enthusiasm is a sweet, affectionate boy who’s just looking for someone to believe in him. ❤️
