Desperate for Love Dog Pound Rescue We are a volunteer run, NFP dog rescue based in Perth WA. As our dogs are usually rescued from pounds, we are often unaware of their age, breed and background.

At Desperate for Love Dog Pound Rescue (DFL) we aim to find rescue dogs their permanent homes with families who will commit to loving them for the rest of their days! The dogs in our care live temporarily with foster families in Perth Metro while we prepare them for adoption; completing their vaccinations, microchipping, desexing & other medical care, and getting to know their personalities and ne

eds. We don’t have a central location as our foster carers are based all over Perth, so you are welcome to view our dogs online at: www.savour-life.com.au/adopt-a-dog/rescue-groups/7422/ and contact us by email if you would like to apply for & meet one of our dogs. Please be aware that each dog may have many applications for their adoption and our goal is to select the home best matched to the needs of the individual dog. Only one applicant can be chosen, & while we do our best to notify unsuccessful applicants or suggest a more suitably matched dog, we appreciate your patience and understanding. While we do try to list an approximate age & breed, there are no guarantees when it comes to rescue dogs. When you adopt a DFL dog, their adoption fee goes towards paying for their vet work along with helping other dogs in need! We also rescue dogs that are very old or ill and care for them under our rescue for whatever time they have left – these are our 'Forever Fosters'. 🚨 THIS IS URGENT 🚨 IF YOU’RE ABOUT TO SCROLL WITHOUT STOPPING TO COMMENT & SHARE - PLEASE, HAVE A HEART! 💔

We are extremely worried about Zain and Banks. Long term kennel living is taking its toll on these dogs and their bodies are both showing the stress they’re under 😰

THEY ARE SHADOWS OF THEIR FORMER SELVES…

Warm meals, cosy beds, and slow and steady training progress will do their bodies and brains a world of good as they adjust to their new lives in real homes. Kennels are fantastic for short term care to keep our dogs safe, but they can’t stay there forever… some sensitive souls just fall apart 😓

WE NEED TWO HOMES:

❤️ ZAIN is good with other dogs once properly introduced and has lived with a female dog. We were told that in his previous life he was good with kids.

❤️ BANKS is not suited to living with other dogs or cats, but we were told that he, too, was good with kids in his past!

Both Zain and Banks are young dogs with massive potential. They are strong on lead so you’ll need to be confident in handling and walking them. Both are very clever and affectionate and will be incredibly grateful to be in homes 🥲

Willow gets along with other dogs and cats (with a slow intro) and we think she’d love a doggy sibling in her new home. She's also been great around kids 5yrs+ at the park so could potentially live with kids 🐕👦

Banks looks like a kid being forced to pose for a photo on the first day of school 😂📚 Considering how great a student he is, it does crack us up!

Banks is a clever young dog who is a quick learner 🤓 He knows tricks like sit, lay down, crawl, paw, and more. He is toilet trained and is ok to spend some time at home when you need to pop out.

We are so keen to get Banks out of kennels and into a loving home. Banks needs foster care and can even be fostered with the view to adopt 🏡
