Sires On Ice WA is a fast-paced general practice clinic, with a high focus in reproduction services. We are seeking an enthusiastic and experienced Registered Veterinary Nurse to join our team.
Located in Midvale, our busy, fully equipped clinic operates 7 days a week, 365 days a year—with occasional after hours/weekend/on-call shifts.
We have a wonderful, established client base of dedicated breeders and dog and cat owners, and we’re looking for a Veterinary Nurse with energy, initiative, and a passion for animal care to contribute to our friendly, motivated team.
Your role and responsibilities:
Assisting veterinarians during consultations, surgeries, and procedures.
Providing compassionate patient care, including monitoring vital signs, administering medications, and managing post-operative recovery
Maintaining a clean and sterile surgical suite and equipment
Utilising your excellent communication skills to educate pet owners on excellent care, treatments, and medication administration
Demonstrating exceptional customer service by addressing client inquiries, scheduling appointments, and managing client files
Collaborating with the veterinary team to ensure efficient workflow and effective patient management
Essential criteria:
Certificate IV in Veterinary Nursing - in practice clinical experience for a minimum of 2 years.
Energy and a genuine passion for the profession
Effective Time Management and Organisation skills
A strong work ethic, practical approach, ability to think on the run and multitask
Flexibility to work weekdays, weekends, and occasional Public Holidays
Primary responsibilities of this position will include:
Veterinary nursing duties
Daily task coordinating and time management
Surgical & Hospital nursing, anaesthesia monitoring, pre/post operative care
In house pathology - Collecting blood and processing
Assisting veterinarians during consultations, examinations and treatments
Performing reception & administration duties, which include answering the telephone, making appointments, preparing accounts and accepting payments
General cleaning duties and some kennel hand duties
