Registration is currently pending, with paperwork submitted. Happy to finalise registration prior to settlement if a sale eventuates.

Rolly has had an outstanding foundation and a quality start under saddle. He has more education than I can do justice to and is ready for someone who can continue developing him. He’s naturally cowy, loves having a job and genuinely enjoys working.

For a young stallion, he is exceptionally sensible. He’s not colty, travels and works quietly with other horses, can be paddocked with geldings and has an outstanding temperament. He’s still a baby, so like any young horse he needs a confident rider, but his brain is one of his greatest strengths.

He has been taught to lay down on command, floats beautifully and has travelled to Victoria almost monthly without missing a beat.

Rolly has had a few weeks off, so he’ll need bringing back into work, but he has the education and ability to be ready for competition quickly. Happy to discuss his current workload with genuine buyers.

This is not a cheap horse, nor will he ever be. He is priced in the low to mid xx,### bracket, reflecting both his quality and his potential.

I truly believe an educated, motivated rider looking for their next performance stallion will see exactly what I see in him. He has all the ingredients to become a very exciting sire and performance horse. While you could choose to geld him, I honestly believe he’d be a tremendous loss to breeding.

Vet checks are welcomed and encouraged.

This is a rare opportunity to secure a beautifully bred young HSH stallion with an exceptional mind, quality education and an incredibly bright future.

I will have to sort out footage as soon as I can as I don’t have much that does him justice with myself as rider.

Payment plan is available to the perfect 5 star home. Would consider swapping for a gelding happy to sit comfortably in encourage drafts, that’s quiet and easy to manage, about 15.1hh max, and maybe one day slowly step up. For now it’s about safety and having fun.

I don’t want everyone to breed to Ray because he’s winning big shows. (He can’t with his mother as his jockey 🙄😅)

I want people to breed to Ray because he’s the sort of horse every horse person hopes they’ll find one day.

When I was looking for a horse, I was prepared to spend good money to find exactly what I wanted. A horse that was quiet, sensible, trainable, trustworthy and enjoyable to be around.

What I didn’t realise was that I already had him.

Ray isn’t the flashiest horse in the paddock and he’s not marketed as the next superstar. He’s simply the kind of horse that makes life easy.

The horse that can have time off and come straight back into work.

The horse that makes people feel comfortable and confident.

The horse that’s often mistaken for a gelding because of how quiet and well mannered he is.

The horse that turns up every day with the same honest attitude. Even if he’s giving his mother some grief for not riding him correctly, I still feel so at ease with him.

What I’m most proud of is seeing those same qualities coming through in his foals.

Time and time again, owners tell me how smart they are, how trainable they are, how easy they are to handle and how willing they are to learn.

They grow into whatever their owners want them to be. Whether that’s a campdraft horse, ranch horse, pleasure horse, family horse or simply a reliable all rounder, they seem to have the brains to take it all in their stride.

These days there seems to be so much focus on breeding the next champion.

For me, it’s about breeding horses that people genuinely enjoy owning.

The kind of horse you look forward to seeing every day.

The kind of horse you trust.

The kind of horse that makes you wonder how you ever managed without them.

I often say I wish everyone could have a “Ray” of their own.

Since I can’t share mine, maybe I can help a few people breed one.

One thing I’ve been thinking about lately is how often stallions are judged solely on the results of the person riding them.

I’m the first to admit I’m not a professional rider. I’m an encourage level competitor who rides for enjoyment, learning and the partnership I have with my horses. If Ray was only as good as the person on his back, he probably wouldn’t have taught me nearly as much as he has.

What makes Ray special isn’t a long list of titles. It’s his temperament, trainability and the kind of horse he is every day of the week. He’s the horse that keeps me safe, gives me confidence, and turns up with the same willing attitude whether we’re at home, out with cattle, trail riding or competing.

As a stallion, he’s quiet, sensible and easy to handle. Many people don’t even realise he’s a stallion when they meet him. His foals are proving to be much the same, good minded, trainable horses that people genuinely enjoy owning.

By all means he still has his moments but I think he’s secretly pushing me to do better.

At the end of the day, I’m not trying to produce world champions. My goal has always been to breed quality horses with good brains, good temperaments and the ability to go on and do a job for their owners.

One mare owner will win a service to Ray, and because we don’t want to exclude anyone, all suitable mares are welcome to enter.

For those who don’t know him, Ray is a 14.3hh Heritage Stock Horse stallion known for his outstanding temperament, trainability and versatility. He’s the kind of horse that’s happy carrying a novice rider one day and working cattle the next. His offspring are proving to inherit the same sensible minds, willingness and quality that make him such an enjoyable horse to own and ride.

What’s up for grabs?

• FREE service fee for an approved registered western performance mare (valued at $1000)

OR

• 50% off the service fee for any other approved mare ($600 normally $1200)

Please note: Agistment, handling, veterinary, collection, AI, freight/shipping and any other breeding-related costs are the responsibility of the mare owner.
