A big thank you to Wafiqah and her fellow first-year Doctor of Veterinary Medicine (DVM) students from Universiti Malaysia Kelantan (UMK) for inviting me to share my experience in aquatic veterinary medicine. It was a pleasure answering all your thoughtful questions. Your curiosity and enthusiasm make sharing knowledge truly enjoyable.

Thank you also for the lovely certificate. I’m glad I could contribute to your learning journey and wish you all the best as you continue your studies in veterinary medicine. 🌊🐟📚

🌊🐟 Can’t believe it’s already been 11 years!

Back in 2014, we started the Murdoch University Student Chapter of the World Aquatic Veterinary Medical Association — and I’ve been honoured to volunteer my time as Academic Advisor ever since. Each year I’ve run our aquatic veterinary workshop, which has now become a much-loved annual event for vet students.

The veterinary curriculum is already packed, yet these amazing students go the extra mile to learn about aquatic animals too — species that need skilled vets just as much as any other.

Nothing makes me prouder than seeing so many of our past students now thriving in aquatic veterinary careers and enjoying what they do. That’s what keeps me going! 💙🐠
