SAFE Newman Our Future is SAFE Our Pets
Our pets are rehomed, either locally, in Perth or elsewhere in WA.

Our Team
The people who volunteer for SAFE and provide Foster Care in their homes, do it for the love of animals, and the view that we can make a difference to our society and the lives of our animals. As we have great deal with freight, it can be cheaper to adopt a pet from SAFE that has been vaccinated, vet checked, wormed and desexed (from six months of age) than to buy a puppy or kitten from a

pet shop. To Donate:

**EDIT - all now adopted! **. Meet the β€œNewman 9” and one devoted mum. All for adoption with SAFE Newman
Abandoned in a house in Newman, these six-week-old puppies and their mum survived thanks to a tradesman who entered the property, discovered them and immediately contacted SAFE Newman. All pups, including their mum are absolutely delightful. A breeze to photograph. Their beautiful mother has done an excellent job and she is equally deserving of a loving home. She has the temperament of an Angel. Her babies, as you can see are beautiful beyond any words I can find.
Their rescue is a powerful reminder: one caring person can change everything.
Please share their story and support SAFE Newman as they give this beautiful family the fresh start they deserve.

πŸ’™ Change Can Be Challenging, But Change Can Also Be Positive πŸ’™

At SAFE, every decision we make is guided by one question:

How do we ensure we can continue helping animals not just today, but for many years to come?

Sustainability is not about doing what is easiest. It is about doing what is necessary to build an organisation that can continue saving lives long after the current volunteers, foster carers, coordinators, managers and board members have moved on.

SAFE has been helping animals for decades because passionate people before us were willing to make difficult decisions that strengthened the organisation for the future. Today, we have the same responsibility to those who will come after us.

Change can feel uncomfortable. It can raise questions and create uncertainty. But standing still is not always the safest option. Sometimes growth requires us to adapt, improve our systems, strengthen our governance, and ensure that every dollar, every volunteer hour and every resource is used as effectively as possible for the animals in our care.

Our commitment remains unchanged.

🐾 Saving companion animals from unnecessary euthanasia.
🐾 Supporting foster carers and volunteers.
🐾 Finding suitable homes for animals in need.
🐾 Building a sustainable future for animal welfare in Western Australia.

The faces involved may change over time. Processes may evolve. New ideas may be introduced. But our purpose remains the same.

Thank you to everyone who continues to support SAFE, whether you volunteer, foster, adopt, donate, transport animals, fundraise, advocate, or simply share our posts. Together, we are building something that will continue making a difference for animals long into the future.

Because our focus is not just on today.

It is on ensuring Our Future is SAFE. πŸ’™

πŸΎπŸ’™ But wait... there's more! πŸ’™πŸΎ

Just when we thought the puppy requests couldn't get any bigger, we've been asked to help another litter in Newman.

Meet 8 Bull Mastiff x Boxer boys, just 4 weeks old and already mastering the art of eating solid food. These chunky little characters are looking for foster homes where they can continue to grow, learn and thrive until they're ready for the next chapter of their journey.

Because they're still young, we'd love to place them in pairs (or even small groups) so they can have a built-in playmate and plenty of puppy company while they develop.

Could you open your home to a couple of adorable boofheads for a few weeks?

SAFE provides support, guidance and veterinary care. You provide the love, cuddles and a safe place for them to grow.

🐾 We're just over one-third of the way there... but with only 9 days left until EOFY, we still have a long way to go.

Every day, SAFE volunteers work tirelessly to save animals that have nowhere else to go. From emergency veterinary treatment and foster care to transport, microchipping and desexing, every dollar donated helps give vulnerable cats and dogs a second chance.

As a foster-based rescue, we don't have shelters or government funding. We rely on the generosity of our community to continue saving more than 4,000 animals each year across Western Australia.

If you've been thinking about making a donation before the end of the financial year, now is the time. Every contribution, no matter the size, helps us continue our lifesaving work.

Together, we can ensure more animals get the care, safety and opportunities they deserve.

❀️ What a difference a community can make. ❀️

Just 24 hours ago, we were facing an overwhelming situation. Two mums and 19 puppies needed help, and without foster carers and transport solutions, their future was uncertain.

Today, thanks to the incredible SAFE community, we have some wonderful news.

🐾 Mum and her 9 puppies are heading to Perth, thanks to an amazing volunteer Ron, who has offered to drive up and collect them so they can move into foster care with new foster carer Sharon.

🐾 The second mum and her 10 puppies have a safe place to stay in Newman until the puppies are fully weaned.

🐾 We already have foster carers lined up and waiting for those puppies in a couple of weeks’ time.

🐾 We have also received an offer from a wonderful volunteer travelling from Tom Price to Perth who can help transport the puppies when they are ready.

This is exactly what people mean when they say β€œit takes a village.”

These mums and puppies are safe because people cared enough to comment, share, foster, transport, network and offer support. Every message, every share and every offer helped us find a solution.

From the bottom of our hearts, thank you to everyone who stepped forward. Together, we have given these families the chance they deserve.

This is what the SAFE community does best. ❀️
