Your energy can make or break your dog’s training.

Dogs feel your frustration.
Your doubt.
Your stress.

Before you train them — check yourself.

Calm. Clear. Committed.

Leadership is stable, not loud.

If your dog only listens at home… you’re choosing the wrong training locations.

1️⃣ Rank places from low → high distraction.
2️⃣ Label the risk. Dogs? Kids? Bikes? No escape?
3️⃣ Earn progress. Hit 80% reliability before moving up.

Don’t test your dog.
Set them up to win.

Most people waste more time being embarrassed… than advocating for their dog.

When your dog reacts, do you think:
“What will people think?”

Your dog isn’t worried about opinions.
They’re looking at you.

Advocating = creating distance.
Crossing the road.
Saying “not today.”
Protecting threshold.

That’s leadership — not weakness.

3 reasons your dog “forgets” training outside.

If they’re perfect indoors but not outdoors… it’s not random.

1️⃣ Too much, too soon.
Distractions are higher. You skipped steps.

2️⃣ Too much freedom.
Structure disappeared. Expectations changed.

3️⃣ Weak foundation.
If it’s not 80% solid inside, outside will expose it.

Mastery → mild distraction → gradual exposure → real world.

Socialisation might be making your dog’s reactivity worse.

Dog park every day.
Saying hello to every dog.
Constant exposure.

That’s overstimulation — not socialisation.

True socialisation = neutrality.
See the trigger. Stay calm.

Stop letting your dog say hello to everyone on walks… if you want calmer walks.

Reactivity isn’t always fear.
Sometimes it’s excitement and anticipation.

If every walk = greeting, you’re teaching:
See dog → pull.
See person → explode.

Calm comes from neutrality, not constant interaction.

If you’re not measuring progress… you’re guessing.

And guessing feels like “nothing is working.”

Track:
• Trigger distance
• Recovery time
• Response rate
• Reaction intensity
• Disengagement speed

Progress isn’t “no reactions.”
It’s lower intensity, faster recovery, and closer calm distance.

What gets measured gets improved.

🚨 From Chaos to Calm – Live Reactivity Q&A 🚨

Reactive dog? You’re not alone.

Struggling with lunging, barking, pulling or shutdowns on walks?
Bring your toughest leash reactivity questions — this is a safe space to get real answers.

Each week we break down:
• Why your dog is reacting
• What state is driving it
• What to do on your very next walk

No fluff. Real structure. Real solutions.
For overwhelmed owners who want clarity, calm and control back.

Let’s turn chaos into calm — together. 🐾

22/02/2026

Stop asking “How do I stop this?”
Start asking “Why is this happening?”

Behaviour isn’t stubbornness.
It’s communication.

Change the state → change the behaviour.
