Do you have the puppy blues… or just need some general guidance? 🐾

Bringing a new puppy home is exciting and full of love but it can also feel overwhelming. The lack of sleep, the biting, the toilet training, the “am I doing this right?” moments.

It’s such a big life change and while it’s absolutely worth it, those first few weeks (and months) can feel a little messy.

My at-home puppy training sessions are here to help you feel calm, confident and supported. We cover the foundations of puppyhood, basic commands and practical strategies to guide you through these early stages.

Support in your own home, tailored to you and your puppy 🤍

If you’re feeling overwhelmed or would simply love some direction, send me a DM 🐾

I had the loveliest time with this little sweetheart during her in-home puppy training session over the weekend 🐾

We chatted all things puppyhood, how to navigate the early stages and gently prepare for the months ahead. We introduced Place, Leave It and recall, and she took it all in so beautifully. Such a clever girl 🥹

Those early puppy days can feel overwhelming, but having the right guidance and a clear plan can make such a difference.

If you’d love some calm, supportive help in your own home, my at-home puppy sessions are here for you. Send me a DM if you are interested

When it’s too hot outside, it’s enrichment time ☀️🐾

On days where physical exercise needs to be limited, mental stimulation becomes even more important.

Scent work – For a working breed like Bucky, using his nose is incredibly fulfilling. We do scent work most days (rain, hail or shine) because it taps into his natural instincts to search and retrieve. It gives his brain a workout, helps him decompress, and gently resets his nervous system.

Snuffle mats & food enrichment – Bucky is not very often fed from his bowl. His meals are usually used for training or provided through enrichment like snuffle mats, frozen Kongs, and puzzle toys. This slows him down, encourages problem solving, and makes mealtimes more engaging.

Retrieving his cow toy – Yes, it’s adorable 🥰 but it’s also purposeful. Retrieving satisfies his breed instincts and gives him an appropriate outlet for that “mouthy” retriever energy. I’ve also taught him this so when he wants cuddles he gets a toy rather then mouthing my arms when he wants to sit on my lap and get pats

Always have a plan for hot weather. Walking dogs in extreme heat is dangerous ,burnt paw pads and heat stroke is a very real risk.

Mental enrichment isn’t just a “backup plan” — it’s essential.

A little life + business update 🐾

You might’ve noticed I’ve been a little quiet on here lately. Truth is, a lot of my time has been going into Bucky… and I’m also very guilty of forgetting to take photos and videos at clients’ houses 😂

For those who know Bucky (and for those who don’t), he’s been feeling a bit unsure about the big wide world. Walks haven’t really been happening. We’d get to the end of the driveway and he’d bolt straight back home. While this can be normal for some puppies, unfortunately Bucky was charged by an off-lead dog that came out of a house less than a metre away. Neither of us could’ve seen it coming. Thankfully, quick thinking meant Bucky was safe and the owner came out in time.

I really can’t stress this enough , even if you’re just letting your dog out “for a second”, please put them on a lead.

Understandably, that experience set him back a bit and shook us both.

But this moment here? I’ve never been prouder. He hopped out of the car and walked to this oval )a place we’ve only been to twice ) and explored.

The moments are short and might seem small, but this is a huge win in my eyes.

Having a puppy is challenging, but moments like this make it all worth it… no matter how often he steals socks 🧦
