Horse welfare will always come first for me and this means making tough decisions sometimes

The beautiful Wren came to live with us as part of our herd, but she just wasn’t settling. My wonderful friend Emma thought Wren might be a lovely fit for her own herd and she was absolutely right.

It’s like she’s always been there. Settled, happy and thriving. Exactly what I wanted for her. I was just a part of her journey to get her to where she really needs to be, for the rest of her life.

Jeez, I miss her though. She was one very special mare who got right under my skin, but I love this for her 💙

A new chapter for Glenrae 🐴

Glenrae Clydesdales is becoming Glenrae Stud.

Clydesdales will always remain part of Glenrae. Glo is now retired from breeding, and I am incredibly grateful for everything she has given us. Luna carries beautiful bloodlines and has inherited Glo’s lovely temperament. In time, if it is right for her, we may consider breeding her to a carefully selected stallion.

In the meantime, Glenrae will be breeding Irish Draught Sport Horses using carefully selected Thoroughbred mares and quality Irish Draught stallions from abroad.

As a small, ethical breeder, my aim is to produce traditional Irish Draught Sport Horses that reflect the qualities the type is known for. Athletic, versatile horses with good movement, soundness, temperament and enough substance to remain true to their Irish Draught heritage.

We are delighted to introduce Penny and Wren, our two Thoroughbred foundation mares. Both bring beautiful pedigrees, lovely temperaments and the qualities needed to produce well bred, rideable sport horses.
