Let’s talk about something stinky but important – a**l glands!
Did you know your dog has two small glands near their bottom that release a scent every time they p**p? These are a**l glands, and while they usually empty on their own, sometimes they need a little help.

Signs your dog may need their glands expressed:
• Scooting their bottom on the ground
• Licking or biting at their rear
• A strong, fishy smell
• Discomfort when sitting

Left untreated, full a**l glands can become impacted or infected – which can be painful and lead to vet visits.

As a qualified vet nurse, I offer a**l gland expression as part of my mobile pet services.
