We had the pleasure of hosting Ross Jacobs last weekend.
To say I learned a lot, would be an understatement and not do justice to the depth of knowledge and experience Ross shared with all who attended the clinic.
I have seen Ross work before and I follow his work, I am impressed by his commitment to the horse and desire to see the world continue to a better understanding and care of the animal.
What I was not aware of is that Ross is humble, has a genuine desire to see participants learn and grow and a kindness of soul that is, quite frankly rare.
He was an absolute delight to host and we would love to do so again in the future.

So thank you Good Horsemanship - Ross Jacobs, from Nathan and myself as well as all the participants and auditors and of course, the horses.
Thank you to all who attended. It’s always good for the soul to share these experiences with like minded people.
And thank you to our horses. Who put up with our bubbling and fumbling in our efforts to do better by them. They truely are an amazing animal.

When we make the decision to own and care for animals, we choose to take on the responsibility of their care and well being.
Over feeding is a BIG problem in domestic animals.
Educating yourself or seeking advised from a qualified nutritionist or equine specialist, can help your horse live their best and most comfortable life. Horses were not designed by nature to be fat all year round. They should undergo a metabolic cycle influenced by nature. They should walk many kilometres per day. Modern domestic practiced impede these natural processes and, quite frankly, we feed based on our emotion needs more than our horses nutritional requirements.

If you missed my video of the hidden fat inside horse’s bodies, that I posted yesterday it’s been loaded to my private Patreon page. Free to view.

I had to take it down from this platform due to complaints,

Patreon- my personal video and photographic journey of the study of the equine hoof.

I have had the opportunity for lengthy reflection lately. I’ve been sick and forced convalescence and my inability to sit still for prolonged periods untethers my mind.
Therefore I’ve been reflecting. Reflecting on the opportunities I’ve been giving in this life, the amazing people I know and of course the magical horses that have and continue to inspire me.

I am filled with immense gratitude.

My horse life has been nothing short of transformative, allowing me to grow both personally and professionally. From the early days of learning the nuances of horse care and training to the more recent experiences of managing complex holistic equine health needs, each moment has enriched my understanding and deepened my passion.

I have made many mistakes. I am guilty of abusive training practices, following false gurus, placing ego before my horses well-being. These memories shame me and cause me guilt to this day. True, these are old memories and I have been a very different horse woman for many, many years but to those I failed, I forever vow to do better.

I am profoundly thankful for the chance to work with such beautiful horses and their amazing owners. Horses continue to teach me valuable lessons about patience, resilience, humour, and the profound bond that we can share with this truly, magnificent animal.

Equally important are the clients I’ve had the privilege to work with. Their trust and confidence in my abilities have been a cornerstone. Each client brings a unique perspective and set of needs, challenging me to continuously improve and adapt. I am deeply grateful for their support, but moreso for the care and love they pour into their horses.

To share my appreciation of all the good in my days I am offering 50% off coaching and clinics at Moribong Farm during August.
It’s not much, but as we all feel the living cost pinch we often don’t have extra to spend on the things that make us happy.
If you and your horse need help or are just looking for a safe space for an outing, please come visit us. If you have any questions, don’t hesitate to reach out for a chat.

Thank you🌻

Soooo I’m pretty useless at this whole social media thing. So I do apologise to those who are keen on updates and my occasional ramblings.
Here is a progress report on our tack-up and wash bay. The pergola for the wisteria is beautifully made by MacDonald Carpentry.
Nathan and Dad installed the training mesh, painted AND fixed the tap.
One line of fencing in and one to go plus’s footing.
Huge effort and I can not thank these amazing people enough. Stunning addition to the property 🤩
