May we all aspire to honour her legacy. Not just with her work and passion for conservation, but to be better, kinder and more caring human beingsā¤ļø The world has lost a living treasure.šŸ’”Rest easy now Jane Goodall. Your work here is done. Your wonderful legacy is ours to follow and continue..

With great sadness, the Jane Goodall Institute confirmed this morning the passing of the organization’s founder, Dr. Jane Goodall, age 91 who died peacefully in her sleep while in Los Angeles, CA for her speaking tour in the United States.

Dr. Goodall’s life and work not only made an indelible mark on our understanding of chimpanzees and other species, but also of humankind and the environments we all share. She inspired curiosity, hope and compassion in countless people around the world, and paved the way for many others — particularly young people who gave her hope for the future.

In 1960 Dr. Goodall established the longest running wild chimpanzee study in Gombe National Park, Tanzania which continues to this day. She pioneered and sustained the Jane Goodall Institute’s community-centered conservation initiatives across the chimpanzee range for over four decades. Her legacy includes the creation of JGI’s international environmental and humanitarian youth program Roots & Shoots, which is actively driving change in 75 countries and counting around the world.

The Jane Goodall Institute is incredibly grateful to all our supporters, partners, and friends, especially during this difficult time. To add a personal remembrance of Dr. Goodall and continue her legacy for future generations, please visit https://janegoodall.global/rememberingjane/

Morning everyone!
I was very busy yesterday with joeys, washing etc. Rachel and her family came around in the afternoon where they continued to paint the Triage. Rachel and myself cleaned the little cabin i have here. I had let a woman and her daughter stay in it so they could get back on their feet after a horrible event. Sadly the cabin was trashed and left filthy. Furniture and mattesses were damaged and so smelly I had to throw it all out!! I suppose some people aren't worth your time and help. Big lesson learned..
Anyway, whilst all this was happening, I got a message from a wonderful lady who had found this little pinkie Swamp Wallaby standing alone by the side of the road. Pamela said there was no mum in sight and the joey appeared to be trying to eat grass!! As you can see in the pics, this baby girl was extremely dehydrated. She had gone a very long time without fluids or milk! So I'm guessing she may have been trying to get some moisture from the grass. She was also very hot from being exposed to the sun.
I had joey feeds to do so Rachel kindly offered to collect the little joey.
When she arrived back here I immediately gave her some much needed fluids. Poor little one was so thirsty!!! After that i introduced the milk formula and she guzzled that down too!! Shes alot brighter this morning after a tummy full of milk and a warm pouch .
Im off to Dubbo this morning for my weekly feed run so I'll head off for now.
Thank you to everyone who donated yesterday and the day before. $590 raised. $400 of which i gifted to Rachel and her wonderful family for all their help.. Tan🦘

Oh! I forgot to tell you all her name!! Its Peanut!🄰.

Morning everyone!!
Theres been a fair bit happening here since the last time I posted!!
As you know, i ran out of funds to finish the Triage shed long ago. As much as ive tried to raise enough funds to have it completed it just never happened. The cost to pay wages was far too much so, feeling defeated and bereft, i let it go. I had to accept that it wouldn't ever be finished. A bitter pill but I swallowed it.
Then, this wonderful local family stepped forward and offered to help finish the Triage!! Mum Rachel and dad Ben and all their wonderful children came armed with care, dedication and love and together have been here daily painting, cleaning, raking. Ben has run the water to the shed and as you can see in the pics the kids got stuck into the painting and raking up of the yards and around the buildings. Ben and his boys are also going to lay the floor coverings and after that some much needed fencing. Rachel has painted and raked along with her girls as well as running back and forth to her home to get her things done and to bring refreshments for the kids. They saw how snowed under i was with so many joeys in care and understood why i had no time to do things myself hence their offer to help.
I am completely overwhelmed by their kindness, their genuine desire to help and their generosity of spirit.
Im so very humbled and grateful to them all- and that's an understatement!!!
I had entirely given up on my dream to see this complete and in use.
Its become a reality now thanks to this wonderful family. And do you what!! They did all this selflessly , sincerely and genuinely. That is a rareity now days.
To Rachel, Ben and all their children
I cannot thank you all enough! Much love, Tanā¤ļøšŸ¦˜
FIVER FRIDAY tomorrow will be in part for them. I would like to gift them some money to show my appreciation. Being such a big family im sure they could use a few dollars. Lord knows they deserve it!!

Just home now from collecting this little Red Kangaroo girl. She was found in a paddock on her own. No mum in sight.
Harvest is about to start out here so I'm guessing there's alot of machinery making its way into paddocks and pastures where kangaroos live.
As you can imagine, their peace and quiet becomes shattered once Harvest starts. There will be more roos visible during daylight hours as they flee from the machinery and noise. Please be aware of this when travelling out here in the next few months. Tan🦘
