Sniffy’s to dogs is brain stimulation & exercise. It’s all part of their adventures just as much as the romps, fun & play.
Day Care for DOGS away from busy dog parks, where supervision is TOTAL. Freedom & control in safe open spaces where dogs can both run free, enjoy play with their friends & walk together happily. The days flow beautifully and end with contented, tired & happy Dogs. They LOVE each day & much as I do. Lucky 🍀 me & lucky, lucky furry friends.

Top dog , Maggie the BORDER COLLIE decides to tell the Two Frenchies off.
My Frenchie Magee was pulling on Little Aceys harness so I had been telling her to stop it and the Collie went in and told them off. Notice how she does her shepherd thing and seperate them.

Hilarious🐾🧡🐾

She does this a lot when she sees dogs doing things that she perceives as not good behaviour.
I just love her ❤️

Gimme, gimme, gimme love 🧡

In temperatures above 20 degrees, there’s real need to limit our dog’s exercise a little. We curb the activity to suit the temperate on the day.

As temperatures rise we plan to begin our adventures earlier to give dogs their exercise yet ensuring it’s customised to suit the heat of the day.

At Doggy Day Care as the days warm up it’s important to take special care of squishy-faced breeds (brachycephalic), overweight and older dogs as they’ll be affected by temperatures cooler than 20degrees.

Dogs will want to rest just like we do, so they’re given lots of water and we avoid over-excitement. We’ll do a short shady walk & find a spot where they can hang out a bit in the shade and simply rest or rumble fairly quietly.

Happy dogs at adventure days out.

There’s always a funny and beautiful story to tell. This is another abfab Fairy Tail day for the FANG GANG. . . . once upon a time a gang of fangers take off for a tethered bush walk. With their happy Fairy Mum in charge, they all tread the tracks on the look out for other wild furry beasts. The doggos eye sight is not as good as the Fairy Mum so the doggos only get to set their eyes on some beasties and always at a good safe distance. There’s plenty of sniffy sniffs along the tracks though. Delicious nose stimulating smells to excite the senses & perk up the brain. WHAT HAPPY DAYS🐾❤️🐾

Happiness for these doggos is easy to find, just put them together in a great open space, chuck a ball, let them bounce around with their favourite furry friends and walk the paths. Aaahh

A day out having fun, romping with their besties is the best day of the week for these FANG Gang buddies.

Winter doesn’t stop the FANG GANG. We simply choose our destinations so we can stay dry in beautiful shelters if necessary & enjoy a lovely long walk in the best Melbournes gardens. Thursday’s walk saw us in the Royal Botanical Gardens amongst the installations for LIGHTSCAPE.

Time to RANT!! Ive just had a call from someone wanting me to care for their American Staffy. I explained that i probably wouldn’t take in a dog of that size because it probably wouldn’t be a good fit with the smaller dogs i generally work with. I explained my reasoning being that bigger dogs may play more boisterously and can accidentally hurt the smaller dogs. Incidentally I do have a Belgian Shepherd, an Aussie Bulldog, Labradoors, English Bulldogs & a Staffy who are regulars. All assessed as compatible though.

Soooo… what do they do? Put a review on GOOGLE saying Im a back yard operator making easy money and that i don’t understand dog behaviour.

YOU SEE Its because i do understand dog behaviour in general that i make these decisions. Below is my reply to her complaint.

HOWEVER: Fairy Dog Mothers Doggy Day Care is a registered Domestic Animal Business. This means that we strictly adhere to all VIC Animal Welfare regulations.

FDM is an experienced and Professional Dog Day Care & Boarding business & are registered as such, fully insured and work strictly & tirelessly to ensure we obey the all STATE & LOCAL LAWS so all the dogs in our care are safe & secure at all times.

HENCE … we work with a policy to make sure all dogs are safe 100% of the time, that they all compatible in temperament, size (weight) and behaviour.

Unashamedly I do discriminate about the Dogs I choose to bring into my FANG GANG. I choose who I will care for & allow to come to my Professional Doggy Day Care.
I do this for my safety, the safety of my staff, my current clients & all future furry friends that will come here for love & care.

As I stated in our short phone call …. First there is a meet n greet where I assess your dog, its manner, obedience, temperament, ability to walk gently on leash etc.
Secondly: if accepted your dog then comes to a trial day care session to determine if it is compatible before they would be fully accepted into our group.
Each dog must go through this process no matter what breed or size it is. Sometimes a small dog is refused because it may not be deemed to be safe with us & or activities.

FDM limits the dog numbers to about eight dogs so we are not crowding & making easy money as you say. We don’t have the dogs kept in a warehouse in high volume. We don’t go to busy parks with 30 - 50 other dogs mixing … We have exclusive access to a large open space with very few & most often NO other dogs in our space. This ensures ALL dogs IN our care get to play & rest in COMPATIBLE company, are well behaved & given incidental training everyday along with their socialising, exercise, adventures, good food & hygiene.

THUS we are an exclusive & very successful doggy day care as far as our clients (the dogs) and their families are concerned.

How I came to be known as the Fairy Dog Mother

I was given the name the “fairy god mother” by my lovely neighbours children. The story begins though when Barry, an aging black lab stayed with me when his family went away for their summer holiday. Of course we all had the best time at my place, Barry, myself and with my Boston Terrier, Duke. That was the year Barry taught Duke to swim and the fun began in the water for us all.

This is Albie, their new boy. Sadly for me they have all moved to Zurich. But we all speak regularly, surprisingly the dogs just don’t quite get the screen thing.
