Momma Susie headed home with her new parents earlier this week🥹🥹
Let’s just say it was a day full of emotions as this little momma came truly so far during her time at our shelter. Arriving stray with 5 babies was not easy on her. Luckily a bond grew between her and our shelter worker(Rhonda) who visited with Susie multiple times a day. Susie had to trust her in letting her change the bedding and help Susie in anyway she could with help raising her babies. The sweetest thing was a baby’s music box that played to help comfort Susie in her “special room” at our shelter. Susie did an exceptional job in raising her 5 little ones. Those 5 littles found absolutely amazing homes that we love hearing updates from frequently!! It was then Susie’s time and we couldn’t be happier as she has found a family who is home mostly all the time and can give her the life she truly deserves!! Susie’s new family fell in love with her and knew they had everything this special girl needed. Susie is pictured with her parents along with her new fur brothers Gizmo and Sammy. Everyone has been doing so well and most importantly Susie is now in her forever home!! We send so much love to Susie and her amazing family who opened their home and hearts to her. Happy life beautiful girl you truly are missed by your favorite at the shelter Rhonda. Let’s all congratulate Susie on coming so far and being such an amazing momma who found her forever♥️

Who needs an older Beagle in their lives?
Meet Archer!!! He has to be the sweetest, most affectionate, attention seeking pup ever. Archer weighs 25 pounds (yes, he’s full grown). He is approximately 6-7 years old. If you have a warm bed or couch to share Archer says he would love to snuggle with you. He does smile when you’re talking to him. He would make someone the perfect companion and would be extremely happy to keep you company. Just look at that that face ❤️

Meet Jovie 😍

She is a 4 month old mini bernadoodle that is ready for her forever home. She is currently around 10lbs and will likely not get bigger than 20-25lbs.

Jovie has some pretty specific wishes of her forever family and home:
⭐ She would like a big fur sister or big fur brother to show her the ropes of living her best dog life. She adores her lab sister at her foster home and is a very social dog when it comes to dog to dog contact.
⭐ She would like a fence so that she can continue to get her zoomies out and play with her fur sibling(s)
⭐ She needs a household that is on the quiet side. Small kids would not be ideal for her, as she is very shy of new people and will need time to just be herself and settle in, on her terms.
⭐ She would love a family that is home more often than not

Jovie is a super sweet shy girl, who takes a bit to accept new people but once she does she will melt your heart. She is thriving in her foster home with the help of her foster fur siblings. She is crate trained and will sleep thru the night in her crate. When left alone she will sing a nice song for you, but will soon quiet down.
Jovie loves to play with other dogs and also loves toys and will occupy herself chewing on a bone or playing with a stuffy.
Jovie is spayed, up to date on vaccines and preventatives. She has not had much experience with a leash, so will need some help with that. She is being fostered in Reading and a meet and greet with all resident humans and dogs is required.
Overall she is a joy to have around and just needs a home that is understanding of her needs and will be able to give her the proper decompression time that she needs to be her best self.

Meet Dodge, an adorable 2 year old orange tabby with a bob tail (born that way). Reserved at first, once he warms up he as sweet as can be and love chin and head scratches. He can be easily startled so a quiet home would be best for Dodge. Dodge is also quite mischievous and has been known to break out of his cage at night and roam the shelter. We don’t know if Dodge has lived with other animals before, but due to his reserved nature, dogs may be too scary for him. He would likely do well with another cat who can help him come out of his shell. Dodge's adoption fee is $225.

We took this miniature poodle TEDDY (fka HARRY) from Lancaster after being hit by a car and shattering his pelvis. Today I was at VRC and got to see him since he is being fostered-to-adopt by an employee! He is walking sooo well!

ADOPT ANNABELLE!!

Annabelle was returned due to no fault of her own, she needs time to adjust to a new environment as most dogs do. A dog who is housebroken can seem not until they get used to where p*e pads are and getting on a schedule. This was the issue for Annabelle. Most of us humans take time to get used to a new home when we move and where everything is dogs are no different, but don’t use a toilet like most of us humans who can usually find that in a new home.

Annabelle’s an 8yo 11lb shih tzu mix. She’s small calm dog, cat and kid 12+ friendly. She’s housebroken when kept on a schedule and p*e pad trained. She’d be ok in a secure fenced in yard if her person keeps her on a leash and walks her or going on harness leashed walks. She needs her person to help with direction since she has vision issues in her right eye which has the dry eye. She’s a calm, quiet, sweet girl who likes being around her people and going for car rides. She wiggles on her back when happy/excited, loves belly rubs and will follow her people once she’s bonded to them which is said to happen quickly.

Annabelle’s foster requires a home without dogs larger then her, kids under 12yo, people who will bring her out to potty on a leash and help direct her, continue to give her the eyes drops she needs for her dry eyes along with patience to allow her ton adjust to a new environment. If your home DOES NOT meet these requirement’s please DO NOT put an application in. We will not call anyone whose home does not meet the needed requirements. Also, we will be concentrating on local to foster applications 1st since home checks and meets with all humans and animals in home is needed at meet. Our fosters are all volunteers so aren’t always able to travel too far.

Annabelle has dry eye and will need to use special eye drops for the rest of her life. She’s spayed, vaccinated, HW negative and microchipped. Currently in Levittown, PA. If your home meets the needed requirements and you’re intereste
