A lot of people are surprised to learn that Dozer is now 13 years old. This photo was taken today.
A couple of years ago I went through a bad break up, moved house, was injured at work, and my mental health deteriorated as a result. This guy stayed by my side the whole time, however his health declined along with mine as the result of soaking up my drained energy and constant state of survival mode. I looked at him one day and realised he suddenly looked really old, had a lot of grey around his face, was overweight and had a collection of fatty lumps growing bigger by the day. I went back to making his food myself (including supplements to target the specific issues he was facing), got his weight under control, and spent a small fortune on a consultation with a holistic vet ($$$ ouch!) mostly for diagnostic purposes, who only confirmed to me that I was doing all the right things and advised me to continue... Today his fatty lumps have reduced so much that most of them have actually disappeared completely, his weight is back to normal, the spark is reignited in his eyes, his coat is shining and his energy has returned so much that he is constantly demanding I take him for walks! His quality of life has improved dramatically and I'm confident he has years left in him.
He is the reason I finally started this business after more than 25 years of intention (and experience in holistic treatments for pets with previous animals I have been caretaker of, rehabilitated and fostered), and he reaps the benefit of all the different modalities I work with...
I'm relaunching Healthy Pets Holistically in the coming weeks with a website under construction, and I'm putting together packages to assist your pets achieve wellness through a holistic approach. I've been adding to my tool kit and finishing up my recognised qualifications (after years of practical experience), and will be clearer in my offerings in the very near future (add wrangling ducks to my skillset, they are nearly all in a row!).
Thank you for your ongoing interest and support, stay tuned and watch this space!
Lots of Love,
Katie and Dozer πΎβ―οΈπ
