This little cherub Karma had her first puppy groom yesterday... It's important that puppies have positive grooming experiences during their critical socialisation stage to ensure a good association with their groomer, so I took my time and made sure she got plenty of treats and it was fun for her.. I didn't take too much off, just a little around her eyes, feet and bum, and she had an absolute ball drying off after her bath and came out so floofy!!! Isn't she adorable!!! 🐾☯️💜

Did you know I also do aquarium maintenance? The first time I cleaned this fishtank it was green and full of algae and the fish were very lethargic and oxygen starved.. My client had inherited it from her son and she had no experience with fish, but she's done a great job following my advice and I now do regular maintenance for her to keep the fish happy and thriving... She has a new filter which provides a lot of oxygen, but you can see how much gunk builds up in the filters and it's important to clean them regularly to stop ammonia from building up... If you have a fish tank that needs some attention I'm your gal so flick me a message! 🐟🐠☯️💜

Here's a couple of pics of grooms I've done recently... Christmas holidays are fast approaching so send me a message if you would like a pampering session for your furbabies before the holidays!!! I had the pleasure of meeting this adorable duo today, Tabitha and Tennison!!! They've both had sore bellies for a while and haven't been feeling great... Tabitha was literally the best behaved Maltese I've ever groomed, she sat there just looking at me adorably the whole time. I had the pleasure yesterday of revisiting brothers Sebastian and Toby for a bath, ear clean and nail clip.... Some of you may remember Sebastian from a previous post. He has a skin condition which has improved greatly since my last visit. Although still a little shy he was very co-operative and smoochy as you can see in the first photo... Ollie had his first groom yesterday... He was far too bouncy when I got there to attempt to put on my table, so I gave him a little massage to calm him and we had a lovely chill time on his bed outside while he got used to the clippers... Meet Mayo, an 8 month old Eclectus Parrot... Yesterday I gave his human advice about diet and husbandry, which varies between species... A major 'do' for parrots is providing appropriate (non toxic!) browse for them to chew... Not only does it encourage natural behavior, but it avoids problems arising from chewing inappropriate things (like fibre or metal!), and it also looks much nicer than a bare cage... Birds are very intelligent and can develop not only physical, but also mental and behavioral problems unless provided with correct stimulation and diet... This is little Rocko the pug after his bath yesterday. His owner has him clipped regularly because they don't like him shedding. I don't recommend shaving pugs for a few reasons; their coat insulates them and helps with temperature regulation, avoids sunburn and bug bites, and shaving does not stop shedding, only resulting in shorter hair being shed. It can also make the coat grow back thicker and coarser, or irregular and patchy. It's also important to clean in between all the wrinkles of pugs and ensure they are thoroughly dried (especially in their wrinkly bits!) to avoid skin problems. Regular brushing and deshedding helps reduce hair around your home, so message me if you'd like some assistance defluffing your fur babies!
