🔥What a Weekend at the Melbourne Royal Show!!!

Over the weekend, we travelled to Melbourne for Andy to compete in the Melbourne Royal Show Farriers Competition. He took part in three classes — Open Shoeing, Open Eagle Eye, and the Three Man Draught (teaming up with Michael Saunders and Trent Bell) — and came away with wins in all three events! 🏆🏆🏆

A huge thank you to the Melbourne Royal Show, John Bunting, and the VMFA team for putting on such a fantastic competition.

A huge thank you to Mustad Australia for the great prizes! The dinner on saturday night was the best!

To judges Robert Jukes and Jeff Pagden — you guys are legends. It was great catching up with everyone.

We’ll definitely be back next year! 👏👏

Exciting Times Ahead!!

We are really looking forward to the busy 2 years ahead with a wonderful committee — full of competitions, clinics, and education. We are very privileged to be surrounded by such dedicated and talented farriers!

Another week, another trip to QLD! This time, Andy competed at the Mudgeeraba Show Farriers Competition — and what a weekend it was! Loads of fun and as always great to catch up with everyone!

Andy competed in 2 classes the Open Shoeng and 4 Man team taking out first place for both events.

We have 2 more events for the year. Can't wait to catch up with everyone again ❤️

Introducing the team at High Country Farriers: Andy McDonald and Dan Carson.

Andy McDonald brings 17 years of experience to the farriery industry, specializing in all aspects of equine hoof care. With a professional and calm approach, Andy is dedicated to providing exceptional service for horses of all types, from pleasure to performance horses. He works closely with clients and veterinarians to ensure optimal performance, comfort, and long-term hoof health for each equine companion.

Dan Carson, currently in the second year of his apprenticeship, is passionate about farriery and enjoys learning every aspect of the craft. His enthusiasm and commitment to developing his skills make him a valuable asset to the team.

We will begin taking bookings from the first week in January, offering services throughout the Southern Highlands and surrounding areas. To schedule an appointment, please contact Lara in the office.
