Today, Sookie and Poppet had the privilege of visiting the wonderful residents at Bindaree Retirement Centre. ❤️🐾

These visits are such a great experience for the pups. They get to meet lots of new people, enjoy plenty of pats and cuddles, and experience new environments that help build their confidence and social skills.

Sookie certainly lived up to his name, taking every opportunity to melt into someone’s lap and soak up the attention - or grab a quick nap. Poppet kept everyone entertained with her cheeky smile and playful personality.

Of course, it’s not just the puppies who benefit. The residents adored the visit and it was a great chance to brighten up a wintery day.

A huge thank you to the amazing staff at Bindaree, who went above and beyond to ensure every resident had the opportunity to spend time with the puppies, including those who are unable to come out to communal areas 🐶❤️

Over the next few weeks the pups will be out and about at school, kinder and childcare so they can share the love and receive plenty of cuddles and pats in return

Looking for a cheap way to get some holes dug in the garden ? Look no further than a golden retriever puppy 😉

Extremely excited (and very flattered) to have Zoe from The Weekly Times visit this week to take pictures for the annual WT dog calendar. Can’t wait to see the final images of these rat bags 🐶🐾🥰

Right now they are all floppy ears, snuffled kisses and adorable tail wags - there is nothing cuter than a Golden Retriever puppy !

🐶 100 % full pelt today 🐶
it’s easy to forget that Patootie and Popcorn are still puppies themselves with lots of energy to burn, and at home they have don’t have their normal amount of freedom because their exuberance can be a bit daunting for the pups.
So off we headed this morning for a big 🚶‍♀️🐾 with plenty of space to run, jump and swim.
They returned home a lot happier, and just a little bit tired 💤

We are getting to that point in time when families start to visit to choose their new best friend. While this is not always possible, for those that live relatively close by it’s a good day out to come and meet the pups in person, along with mum and dad. Today Susie and her daughter from visited and had her heart stolen by the newly named Jespar, and we can see why ! He could not get enough snuggles 🥰

Oh how they have grown ! The puppies have reached an age where they are always
🐶 sleeping
🐶 eating
🐶 chewing
🐶 getting muddy
It’s also the age they start to develop little personalities and find the confidence to explore without mum.

We went back and forth about whether to share this, but part of breeding is being honest about all sides of it. Most of the time it’s 99% joy, excitement, tiny puppy cuddles, and a whole lot of hard work. But every now and then there’s the 1% that is just a really sh*tty way to spend your time.

Over the past little while we lost the runt, a little girl, from Marigolds litter. We tried everything we could — extra feeds off Matilda who had less puppies so more milk, bottle feeding, around-the-clock monitoring — but despite all efforts she gained effectively no weight and did not get stronger. Sometimes Mother Nature knows what’s best, and this was one of those times.

A sad little reminder that behind all the cute photos and happy updates there are also days that teach the kids (and us all) about the complete circle of life. ❤️

This week the puppies had their first bath — some were confused, some loved it immediately, and others tolerate the intrusion but really just want to go back to bed! Safe to say everyone loved the fireside sleep afterwards.

Too cute not to re share! Happy Mother’s Day!
