Della loves snacks!

Della had surgery to remove a small growth on her upper eyelid today because it was rubbing on her eye.

While she was waiting for Dad to pick her up she had some snacks from the snack bar.

What does the word “castration” mean? I haven’t heard that word before.

Update on Mary

Mary came in today for a recheck and she was showing us how well she can use her back legs now.
Last week she was dragging her back legs and could hardly walk. Today she was wanting to jump up on the window sill.

She is being a monkey and spitting out her medication after mum and dad walk away!

It was FATE…

We saw Mary on Tuesday because she was having trouble walking and couldn’t use her back legs. She lives inside making snake bite unlikely.
Her back feet were cold and her toe beans purple.
She had developed a clot secondary to her heart disease and the clot was affecting blood supply to her back legs.
We started her on anticoagulant medication and pain relief after ultrasounding her heart, and we are thrilled that her toe beans are now pink and her feet are warm.
She was walking well and able to jump onto the consult bench.
It warms our hearts to see our patients recovering ❤️‍🩹

“M” for Miley

Miley was a superstar when she was in hospital this afternoon having a nasty hot spot treated.

Her reward was a lickimat and Sky created an “m” for her.

Hot spots are a common problem in Summer especially when we have very hot weather. It is important that we treat them quickly because they double in size very quickly.
