Happy world snake day.
This is one of my favourite catches to date. A big chonker eastern brown that was in the middle of nowhere. The only reason he had to be moved was because the workers had to maintain the box. They finished the job in 20 minutes and let me put it back. I love that so much!
Eastern brown. Pseudonaja textilis.
And thanks goes to Allen Glover for the wicked video skills. Coz we all know if I was in charge of that, it would be a video of my feet! 🤣

Flashback to this beauty from Andergrove. I caught this coastal carpet python at Ian Ferrier place. It wasn't too excited about me picking it up. Tried to take a few bites out of me. And rightly so. I interrupted a great nap!

I went out to this yellow faced whip snake, demansia psammophis, a few weeks back. A friend saw it next door to them and was worried that it hadn't moved much. They were right. It had a massive puncture wound. I took it to Beauden Jenkyns for a second opinion and sadly, it had to be euthanised. We suspect a cat or a small bird of prey due to the small claw marks down the rest of the body.
We troed really hard to save ut. Sometimes, it's kinder to let them go.

I have been a bit quiet lately but I have done a couple of fun nakeys. The first was a beautiful eastern brown snake, pseudonaja textilis. It was at a property in Sarina in their granny flat area. I went with Allen Glover as back up. Lucky I did. It was a tricky catch that took a fair bit of skill and a touch of luck. It turned out well and we bagged the snake.

I caught this coastal carpet python the other day from a lady's workplace in West Mackay.
I think it's male and has been fighting with another male. He has paint all over him. Naughty boy.

This presentation is coming back to Mackay. I went to the last one and it is brilliant! It's inexpensive and educational. These guys have so much reptile knowledge. David Barwell has been one of my mentors and without him, I wouldn't be where I am today.
I highly recommend going to this.

This course is coming to Mackay again. I went last time and I HIGHTLY recommend it! It isn't expensive and it has so much information, great presenters and ..... LIVE REPTILES!
This is a must for people with a fear of snakes, (Knowledge is power!) People who want to learn about snakes or people who need to learn how to react to a snake being around. (Also those wanting to cuddle snakes. Lol.)
Perfect for teaching staff, business owners and staff who work in environments where tgey are likely to come across snakes and parents who want to teach their kids.
