It may be Autumn now but this sweet little Japanese Maple and other trees in this garden are not turning Autumnal colours, they are dying! Unfortunately many people in control of a line trimmer / whipper snipper either don't understand or don't care about the harm that they can potentially do to trees in particular. There are five different important layers to a tree's trunk and more than half have been removed (by a paid "professional" gardener) so it has no means of taking up water and nutrients. So sad for many reasons. I could go on!

What lovely rain this week. How much did you get where you are, I would love to know. This rose is Hot Chocolate. It’s one of those roses that looks gorgeous when it is in decline. Well I think so anyway!

Wisteria frutescens flowering for a lovely long time and our dwarf mandarin looking to be prolific again. It’s the very delicious citrus reticulata Japanese Seedless Mandarin.

Would you look at this box of colour!! Shopping for clients (and maybe me too!) at Belair State Flora. Local Australian natives are not lacking in colour! These are just some of my goodies. So pretty and also chosen because they will be suited to their position, resilient and easy care.

Did you have a long weekend of sport, camping, something else, or a crazy huge gardening?!! This is a little corner of our garden in the lovely morning light. Echium and Pig’s Ears a beautiful green, purple and orange palette under the gums.

Time to dig some sunflower seeds out of the gardening cupboard. They are so easy to grow and love, and to collect seeds for the next year (if you can beat the cockatoos to it!!)

Spring is here! Bring on the bees as they love Rosemary flowers. This is Rosminarius officinalis prostratus. So beautiful trailing over our wall. I wish you could smell it. It's definitely a good time to prune rosemary that needs it. Go hard and it will come back.
