A quick little snippet from vins first ride back in.
This fella has been put in the paddock for a year all up while I put retraining first but this year is officially for him. Ive set us some good eventing goals and look forward to seeing him grow and achieve them in the next 12 months ❤️
Wishing you all a safe and happy new year 🥰
Vino today In his second ever time over jumps! Super stoked with how he responded to everything I asked of him 🙌🏼
This fella is currently a steal for 2500, don’t forget to put him on your Christmas Wishlist!
Race name: Tyrrhenian

This mightn’t look like much, but this is HUGE. Vino has had the last two weeks off (unintentionally!) as we had a heat wave followed by severe storms and to get back on without lunging and get this, is incredible. It’s all coming together!
The long and low is building with each ride and so is his relaxation. I cannot stop smiling from ear to ear when I think about how far he’s come.
Don’t forget this guy is currently available through absolutely no fault of his own, if I could he would be staying with me. Only 3000 Ono to the best of homes only
The worst thing about riding at this time of day however is the pivo gets stuck on the sunlight and loses track of us sometimes so bear with me for some missing things!

I’ve known vino for years having rode him trackwork in 2022, being handled daily by an elderly gentleman he has beautiful ground manners. Always meets you at the gate with a whinny he is perfect to shoe and truck.
He has gorgeous movement with big floating strides and beginning to gain consistency in his softening/collection.
He has just started over poles and small cross rails at trot/canter.
He is currently shod in the fronts only.
Vino all in all is a quiet safe mount however he does have his quirks which I’m happy to discuss with potential buyers. He needs a firm, confident rider with a soft hand and independent seat.
If you are an inexperienced rider or just returning to riding this guy isn’t for you. He is still a green off track thoroughbred.
He won’t be suited to the hacking world due to some cosmetic scarring however this does not affect him in anyway and all medical checks are welcome. In the years that I have known him he has not had a lame day in his life.
Vino has a lot to give however needs a rider with more time than I have available. This is very evident with the work he is doing currently as he just continues to get better and better through the week. With my current work schedule, clients and working on the block I am unfortunately quite limited on time. He is the kind of horse that thrives on routine and consistency however I can leave him for over a week and jump back on him with no need to lunge.
NB. He holds the rabbicano gene for white flecking so gets it through his coat and tail. A gorgeous and rare colour mutation that is well sought after in “coloured” horse collectors.

Vinos first session over the jumps!
It didn’t start as gracefully as it ended but here’s hoping there’s a long future ahead 🥰
Vino is working like an absolute dream come true! Over the moon with how he is progressing currently.
Will be popping him over some poles and cross rails this weekend and then he will be available to a good experienced home!
Vino oh my goodness!! I was going to start posting him for expressions of interest but maybe I don’t want to anymore 😍😍
He has come so far in these last few weeks I am beyond proud of him. A massive shoutout to my best friend Madeline Dunbar who is a breaker at Aspire Thoroughbreds for her insight on him. Her knowledge with breakers led me to a different route with him that has worked absolute wonders and I can’t thank her enough!
This is his first ride out of the round yard in over a month and his third canter since August. This is why I’m such a huge believer in not cantering until they start to understand balance and softening.
Atta boy vino 🥰
Trusty Pivo Pod always comes through for videos 💪🏼
Starting to hold some consistency and even get some softening in the canter. Make sure you watch to the end to see his second time working on the canter! Asking them to come up through their shoulders when they’ve been trained to run long and flat for so long is such a big ask and that’s why we start SUPER slow. Small steps equal big results! 🤩

Little vino update, he is going like a champ! Started working on the canter this week and looking forward to seeing him continue to go forward
Vino would easily have to be one of the more challenging horses I’ve retrained. He is by no means naughty or ill mannered however is very set in his ways as am I! I’ve had to learn to compromise on my methods as our facilities have greatly changed and I believe this has been the biggest hurdle I’ve had with him. The mental game when I wonder why something that has always worked is no longer working. When we reach the final product this will be one of the most rewarding horses I’ve ever produced.
Vinnie getting the hang of this no bridle stuff!
Vinnies first session on working without a bridle. Obviously we still have it on for safety reasons however the aim was to use only vocal and leg cues with the neck rope for extra guidance. I really have no desire to join the show circuit again now that I’m back riding the boys and stuff like this helps me keep motivated to ride!
He’s such a champ 🥰
