Happy to see my little Stocks pony sulky rolling again. All iron works including each spring were individually bare metalled and red oxide primed. The springs had a makers stamp that was visible once cleaned up, out of curiosity I googled the name but they are no longer in business.

All bolts are imperial sized and are new. The shafts and wheels were reproduced to the original specifications. I’m assembling the vehicle completely, then disassembling it for painting.

Little by little it’s coming together, it’s going to be a nice little sulky, it should suit 12hh.
I’m hoping to talk Shelbie in to putting the colour on it if I prime and prep it.

The 2026 Show Driving Season has begun. We took our Pally Gelding Sunny out on a pleasure drive to get him a bit more conditioning and atmosphere beyond the usual show ring. Looking forward to this Year of the Horse 🐎 and our first event for the season at the Queensland All Welsh Show in Gatton on March 13.

Our resident Clydesdale Mare Bessie took a lovely young woman to her formal entrance in Toowoomba on 19/09/25. This was Bessie’s first time in a public situation being ridden and she behaved perfectly and looked Beautiful. Both Ladies looked Gorgeous together. Along with Jenala Welsh Stud and Laura Forrest, we were so thrilled that we could help Brianna Gartner with her formal dream. 💜

Oooooh very exciting!!!! This American Cowgirl loves her Clydesdales and all the show bling they usually have. I’m quite excited that over here in Australia they’re going to have this cart class competition just as in the States. That’s the type of showing my Clydesdales that I’d love to do. Very keen on it and hoping we will be out and about in the new year with Big Bess. 💜🐴🇺🇸🇦🇺

Home from the Australian Carriage Driving Society Queensland Branch state ShowDriving Championships yesterday. Extremely proud to exhibit my two favourite ponies there.

Firstly we showed my dear old friend Owendale Claudia. At 25 years of age the beautiful lady was awarded first of five in the pleasure turnout ( this is the third year in a row Shelbie and Claudia have won this class ), then Claudia also won the trade turnout and the wooden wheel turnout
Claudia was also awarded the Concours D’ Elegance award

This was the first state show for my little home grown pally friend ‘Sunny’ ( The Heartlands Sundance Kid ) He hasn’t done many shows but handled everything well and won the novice pony in harness class. I really like this little guy, he has the best work ethic of any pony I’ve ever had.

I do apologise to several friends i saw there, i would have loved to catch up but was pretty busy with these two and helping others for most of the day.

Thank you to the Judges, Stewards, ShowDriving Convenor Kylie, Claudia’s owners Jenala Welsh Stud and all those who made such an enjoyable day possible.
