Following a successful stay with a beautiful mare visiting all the way from Wolgan Valley —who required twice-daily medications and close care alongside our amazing mobile vet, Kim—we’ve expanded our services to support more horses needing short-term medical care.
What does this mean for you?

CHESTER

15.1 hh (unmeasured) bay standardbred gelding for lease on behalf of a client.

Chester is a beautifully natured gelding who is looking for a free lease home. He is currently out of work but has had a few recent rides which I am happy to discuss with potential leasees.

Chester is good to trim and is up to date on his teeth and tetanus vaccination. He has not been floated for quite some time but was an easy floater in previous years. Can be paddocked alone or with other horses, but does prefer to be with company.

He would suit an intermediate to experienced rider who is comfortable bringing a horse back into work and has the time to work with him two or more times a week. He has been out of consistent work for over a year, so his fitness will need to be improved.

Previously a trail riding mount and did well but was looky out on trails.

I think with the right person Chester would flourish, and would suit someone wanting to do a range of things with him.

Located at Gangbernang Valley (Kanimbla), ideally would like a lease home within 90 minutes of where he is, and will go under contract with check ins periodically.

JET

14.2 hh (unmeasured) black brumby mare for sale on behalf of a client.

Jet is aged in her early teens (12-14 years old) and is looking for an experienced person to continue her education. She is a beautifully natured mare but can be anxious and skittish, and needs gentle reassurance.

She has been mostly unhandled and unworked until the last three months, in which she has had her teeth, vaccinations and feet done. Over the last month, we have been putting significant work into Jet’s handling, including holding her feet for the farrier, in which she has improved but still requires confidence building.

Her groundwork has been started, she has been put over some obstacles and is quite brave once she builds a trusting relationship with her handler.

She has been floated in November successfully, but took a bit of time to get her bearings and loaded.

I have put a saddle on her and she seemed reasonably okay with it, but I would not consider her as broken in or educated under saddle, so is being advertised as an unbroken project mare, and is priced as such.

Happy to discuss in further detail to interested parties.

Ideally to be sold within a two hour radias as she has previously suffered from Queensland Itch and has suffered very minimally this season in a cooler location.

Jet is slowly but surely coming along, and her feet handling is slowly improving. Bath time and a clean up for her today.

Jet will be looking for a home in the next few months, an advert will be put up shortly, but feel free to PM if you feel like you could offer Jet a home as a project horse.
