Big day for the babies !

This beautiful boy Bing has just been collected by his new parents and on his way to meet his new brother at his new home in Whyalla ♡

Bings new family are experienced with our beautiful breed but sadly lost their beautiful girl to cancer a few years back. After asking who they received their girl from I wasn't prepared for the answer I got, but they actually got their girl from my mum in Portland all those years ago. I almost cried.

I am overjoyed I was able to bring another crestie back Micheles life and I am so grateful to Mel at @ EP Dog boarding for being so amazing and getting Bing back to me and finding Michele ♡♡♡

Here’s a fun fact.... chinese cresteds come in varying degrees of hairlessness, some are even as coated as powderpuffs! “What differentiates them?” You might ask....

Teeth. The hairless gene comes with different dentition. It’s common for hairless dogs to be missing teeth or to retain baby teeth and never grow adult teeth.
Also, breeding powderpuff x powderpuff will only produce puffs. Otherwise, puff x hairless or hairless x hairless will produce a mixture of both hairless and puffs.

They are shaved for the ring. I included a collage I made a while ago and also side by side photos of the boy I show for reference of how they look unshaved vs prepped for the show ring.

ETA; a hairy hairless is NOT the same as a powderpuff, powderpuffs are shown with their coats, not shaved. It is unethical to show a shaved puff as a hairless.
