Say hello to Claude — the cutest little Burmese heart-melter we had in this week! 😍🤎

Claude came in for his vaccinations, and we’re all still recovering from the cuteness overload!

But visits like Claude’s aren’t just adorable — they’re incredibly important for keeping our feline friends healthy.

✨ Why cat vaccinations matter:
Vaccinations are the best protection we can offer our cats against serious, preventable illnesses.

💉 Core vaccines protect against:
• Feline Panleukopenia – a highly contagious and often fatal virus.
• Feline Herpesvirus & Calicivirus – major causes of cat flu. Once infected, cats can carry these for life.

🌱 Depending on lifestyle, we may also recommend:
• Feline Immunodeficiency Virus (FIV) – especially for outdoor or adventurous cats, as it’s spread through bites.

📆 Kittens like Claude need a series of boosters to build strong immunity, followed by regular adult boosters to keep protection up for life.

So if your furry family member is due (or you’re not quite sure when they’re due), give us a call — we’re here to help keep them safe, healthy, and purring. 🐱💕

Welcome to the world, little Claude — you’re already a superstar! 🌟🐾

👅 Meet the gorgeous Ellie Mae! 💖

You might notice her extra-long tongue hanging out – and that’s because Ellie Mae has ‘Hanging Tongue Syndrome’.

This condition happens when a dog’s tongue sticks out of their mouth all the time. It can be caused by a few different things, like missing teeth (which normally help hold the tongue in place), neurological changes, or even just the shape of their jaw.

While it certainly gives Ellie Mae her signature look, it’s something we keep an eye on – as tongues that stay out can dry out or get sore. With regular checkups, a little extra TLC, and plenty of water, Ellie Mae is living her very best life (and giving the BEST sloppy kisses 💦💋).

Isn’t she just the sweetest? 🐶❤️

That big smile (and tongue mid-swish) is 100% genuine – especially when there’s a treat involved!

We think he’s auditioning for “world’s happiest face,” and honestly… we’d vote for him 🐾❤️

🐾✨ Breed Spotlight: The Yorkshire Terrier! ✨🐾

Small in size but big in personality — the Yorkshire Terrier, or “Yorkie”, is one of the most popular toy breeds around the world, known for their confidence, intelligence, and signature silky coat 💙

💡 Breed Facts & Care Tips:

🏡 Origin:
Yorkies were first bred in 19th-century England, originally used to catch rats in textile mills! Their feisty spirit and bravery quickly made them beloved companions.

🐶 Personality:
Don’t be fooled by their size — Yorkies are bold, curious, and full of sass. They’re affectionate with their families and love being the center of attention.

✂️ Coat & Grooming:
Their long, fine hair needs regular brushing and grooming to stay tangle-free and shiny. Many owners opt for a shorter “puppy cut” for easier maintenance.

🍽️ Health & Care:
Yorkies can be prone to dental disease, so regular tooth brushing is a must! Keep an eye on their delicate joints and provide a safe space — they sometimes forget they’re tiny.

🏃‍♀️ Exercise:
They might be small, but they’ve got plenty of energy! Daily walks and playtime help keep them happy and healthy.

💬 Fun Fact:
Despite weighing only a few kilos, Yorkies have a reputation for thinking they’re much bigger dogs — they truly are little lions at heart! 🦁💛

This adorable ball of black-and-white cuteness absolutely stole the show with his big round eyes and tiny paws, he was the perfect patient — full of wiggles, snuggles, and curiosity.

We can already tell Oreo’s going to grow into one very loved (and probably very spoiled!) little man 💙🐶

✨ Fun Fact: Did you know pugs were originally bred to be royal lap dogs in ancient China? Their adorable wrinkles were even said to resemble lucky symbols! 👑🐾

🐾✨ Breed Spotlight: The West Highland White Terrier! ✨🐾

Meet this little baby bundle of joy — a West Highland White Terrier (or “Westie” to their friends)! 🤍
Behind that adorable face and fluffy white coat lies a fascinating history and a big personality packed into a small frame.

🗺️ A bit of history:
The Westie hails from the rugged Highlands of Scotland, where they were originally bred as hardy working dogs. Their job? Hunting rats, foxes, and other small game — often in tough, rocky terrain. Their striking white coat was no accident either — it was deliberately bred so they’d be easily visible to hunters in the field.

💪 Personality & traits:
Westies are confident, curious, and full of life. Despite their size, they’ve got a true terrier spirit — fearless, determined, and always up for an adventure. They thrive on companionship and love being part of the family action.

🧼 Care & maintenance:
Their thick double coat is not just for looks — it helps protect them from the elements. Regular brushing and occasional grooming keep that iconic fluff looking fresh. And like many terriers, Westies benefit from consistent training and plenty of mental stimulation to keep their bright little minds busy.

From Scottish hunter to beloved family companion, the West Highland White Terrier has truly earned its place as one of the world’s most charming and spirited breeds. 🤍🐶

🐾 Breed Spotlight: The Smithfield 🐾

Featuring the most handsome Roley 🥹

Have you heard of the Smithfield? This rare working breed is believed to have originated in England and was brought to Australia and thirved in Tasmania in the early 1800s. They were originally used to drive cattle in the Smithfield meat markets of London — hence the name!

💡 Fun fact: Smithfields aren’t a registered breed with major kennel clubs, but they’re treasured for their working ability and loyal, no-nonsense nature.

✨ Traits you’ll love about the Smithfield:
• Intelligent and quick to learn
• Protective and loyal to their family
• Energetic herders who thrive with a job to do
• Shaggy, medium to long coat that gives them a scruffy charm

Smithfields are an important part of Australia’s farming history — though not as common today, they’re remembered fondly as hardworking, dependable cattle dogs with big hearts. 🐕❤️

🐝🐾 Meet Buster — our 5-month-old Labrador pup who had a rather un-bee-lievable day!

Poor Buster managed to get himself stung by a bee, and let’s just say… he’s temporarily swapped his Labrador looks for a bit of a Shar Pei vibe 🥺🐶

After some TLC, medication, and cuddles from the team, he’s feeling much better — though we think he’s still wondering what that “buzzing thing” was all about!

Sending big love to brave little Buster 💛🐾

💡 What to do if your pet gets stung by a bee:
🐾 Stay calm — most stings cause mild, local swelling or discomfort.
🐾 Check for the stinger and gently remove it if visible (use a card to scrape, not tweezers).
🐾 Apply a cold compress to reduce swelling.
🐾 Monitor closely for signs of an allergic reaction such as facial swelling, hives, vomiting, difficulty breathing, or collapse.
🐾 Contact your vet immediately if you notice any of these symptoms — allergic reactions can develop quickly and need urgent care.

A little buzz can cause a big reaction, so it’s always best to get your furry friend checked if you’re unsure 🐝❤️

🐾 Our Hero of the month – MAGGIE! 🩸❤️

Today, we want to celebrate a very special patient — Maggie, who selflessly donated blood to help save another dog’s life. 💕

Just like humans, dogs sometimes need blood transfusions during emergencies such as trauma, surgery, or certain illnesses. Thanks to Maggie and her amazing family, another pet was given a second chance at life.

We are so proud and grateful for this brave pup who came in with a wagging tail, a gentle heart, and left as a true lifesaver. 🌟

To Maggie — you’re more than a good dog… you’re a hero. 🐶🦸‍♂️

If you’ve ever wondered about pet blood donation and how your dog might help others in need, speak to our team — every donation can make a world of difference. ❤️

✨ M O L L Y ✨
This gorgeous Golden girl came in recently for her pre-spey check-up, and just look at that smile! 🥹 Molly was such a sweetheart for her visit, happily showing off her waggy tail and big puppy dog eyes.

Speying (desexing) is an important step in your pet’s healthcare journey – it not only helps prevent unwanted litters, but also provides long-term health benefits for your furry friend. 💕

Since then she’s come in for her surgery and was truly the best patient! She’s now recovering beautifully after her big day. 🐾💛

We’re so proud of Molly for being such a superstar – and of course, she got plenty of cuddles from us along the way! 🥹💖
