🦴🐈‍⬛ Kato the super sweet DSH has a habit of jumping the fence at home. He presented to his owner with a nonweight bearing lameness of his left hind leg! Radiographs revealed a dislocated hock (ankle joint) which is a common injury in animals that get their leg caught jumping over things like fences.
Kato’s surgery involved repairing the damaged ligaments that stabilize his hock joint. This involved placement of a prosthetic ligament that was anchored in place with screws and washers. The surgery went well and Kato was able to be discharged the following day…. But not before he charmed us all with his smooches and playful personality 😻
