Casterton comes alive with creativity this weekend as art, community and Kelpie spirit come together for the 30th Australian Kelpie Muster.

At the Town Hall, the Rotary Club of Casterton has transformed the space into a beautiful pop-up gallery, showcasing a vibrant collection of local and regional works.
Just across the road, Gorman’s Art Gallery presents the prestigious Clarice Beckett Art Award, celebrating artists who continue to honour and reimagine Australia’s artistic story.
Whether you are an art lover, a curious visitor or a proud local, make time to explore both exhibitions across the weekend.

The secret is out! Gayle entered Banjo’s portrait in the Casterton Kelpie Muster Art show and it won the prestigious award and will now hang at the Casterton Kelpie Centre!

INCREDIBLE START TO THE KELPIE MUSTER LONG WEEKEND!
Two firsts at the gala opening, hosted by the Kelpie Muster Rotary Art Show
Long-time supporter of the show, Gayle Newcombe (left) won her third consecutive Kelpie Acquisitive Art Prize.
Another local favourite made history, taking first prize in two categories.
This year's awards were judged by highly respected and loved award-winning Western District artist, Meagan Lonsdale (pictured, right).

Coolynn Uno (BP Kate x Kippakoop Charger) doing what she does best, calmly walking ewes and lambs to their new paddock.

Instinct like this isn’t trained, it’s something she’s always had, the ability to read stock and apply just the right amount of pressure to the right place so that ewes and lambs arrive together to their new destination.

It’s that time of year again when we have started lamb marking. Capree Skye is the most gentle dog with the lambs, don’t get me wrong she can take on a 120kg ram but then she can sit with the lambs all morning in a pen and I don’t have to worry about her. To top it off she is the most loyal dog on my team.

When Gayle from Gayle Newcombe Fine Art asked if she could do Banjo’s portrait, I thought what an Honour. Gayle has done two commissions for me before one hanging on Frank’s wall of Annie and the other on Pete’s wall of Charger & Poison so I knew her absolute talent.
And wow! She has blown me away once again with this piece titled ‘Banjo’ Muster Dog Winner.

We had a wonderful morning at Gayle’s studio catching up and Banjo falling asleep on Gayle’s lap. Thank you for having us.

The BR & C Agents Broken Hill Ag Fair Yard Dog Trial is pumped to announce we’ve got a bit of a celebrity in the mix of competitors this Friday and Saturday at the Broken Hill Racecourse.

We’re proud to welcome Kim Dodson and her well-known muster dog Banjo to the Silver City! ⭐🐕

Kim and Banjo have built a strong reputation in the working dog world and we’re stoked to have them making the trip to be part of our Ag Fair weekend.
