It's time to round up the sheep....
....Introduction to herding -
building instinct, control and stock handling.

📅 Course dates

1. 9th Saturday August
2. 10th Sunday August
3. 6th Saturday September
4. 7th Sunday September
5. 4th Saturday October
6. 5th Sunday October

(minimum 3 per class/each course runs for 4 weeks)

⏰️ 2:45pm for a 3pm start

🚜 110 Texas Road, Jensen. Cross over the creek and we are the first driveway on the left. Property name of Trubarka is on the gate. Please stay on the deco unless otherwise advised.

☔ Wet weather cancellation will be advised by a post on the Tails On The Farm page by Saturday or Sunday lunchtime. Text message sent to participants without Facebook.

What to throw in the car....

🐕‍🦺 Best dressed dog wearing their collar and lead, poo bags, water for your dogs water bowl and a wire crate if you have one.

🍖 Treat bag full of high valve soft easy to eat eg; chunks of chicken meat/sliced sausage/cheese etc, is a must.

👟 Our sheep like standing on toes so covered footwear eg; boots/sand shoes, helps protect the toes.

💰 $130 for a 4 week course. Please pay prior to starting the lesson. Cash or direct deposit.

Santa's stork visited the Farm a little early this year. 🎅

All but one girl is an experienced mum so pretty unusual to hear a distressed lamb yesterday afternoon at feeding. Found Cinderella's lamb way over the back of the chook pen. Speckled ewe who had also lambed that day, was most confused as to why she suddenly had 2 lambs.

Where is your concerned doting mum we asked?? Ahh right, over at the feed trough stuffing her face full of food. Lamb, what lamb?? Carried it over and only after mum had finished eating did she remember she had a parental duty. 🤦‍♀️

101 bailing twine uses....bodgy fence repairs followed by, yep that's just temporary...a challenge to see how few you can use to hang up a tarp... elaborate configurations that require a rocket scientist to change the height of a poultry feeder....balance preciously a rain gauge on a fence....amazingly rat nesting material didn't make our top 101.

Dapper left behind an amazing legacy of offspring but he also taught his daughters the fine art of rat hunting. Having just past the cage of pet mice, the local pet shop assistant exclaimed....ohh how sweet, he is jumping up to say he wants one of those nice squeaky toys. Cough cough....if you mean the nest of escaped fury squeaky toys above the toy display stand, then by all means sure. 🐀

Over the last month we have struggled with Leia with a mystery illness. One that prevented us celebrating her 13th birthday. Now that she is feeling a little better, what better way to celebrate than an afternoon of ratting.

Over the last 20 years, we have tried a range of dog sports and just because we like agility, doesn't mean our dogs will to. Agility to Hope and Satine is just a stroll in the park with treats, between the main event which they take very seriously.... chasing cars.

Sadly the sport of barn hunting has probably come to late for Leia, but she will pass on Dapper's teachings to the next generation.

Happy birthday old girl....may your days be filled with long swims, rounding up the roaming ducks, telling us to get the rats behind the old wardrobe and telling the world we are using a power tool. 🎉🐾
